Will we win the league this season?

Well his posts have proved that he knows a damn sight more than all the bedwetting fannies who swamp this thread with their ill judged negativity.

Mind you, and not intending to damn him with faint praise, so would your average primary school kid who knew anything about footy
Footy ???

Our defence is a huge worry .
BUT we are definitely in it .
Fucking mad football sometimes and this season is definitely one of those mad seasons for a lot of clubs .

Surprisingly for me, we are in the mix, because I don’t think we’re that good a side/squad yet and are more of a developing team on the way to becoming a great side in another season or two after making a few more signings/sales and the current young squad growing together.

You can see that in how we’re averaging nearly 1 point dropped for every game we play, we’re only on course for a 79 point season, and I still think we will have a Brighton/Villa/Newcastle away performance/result once every six weeks or so due to the age and lack of experience of a lot of our squad (young players are inconsistent by default).

However, there are no outstanding teams in this league anymore. There are no City, Liverpool, Chelsea 100, 99, 98, 97, 95 point teams. What there is instead is a league wide competitiveness and the gap between the best and the worst in the league hasn’t been so small for a long time.

One thing Arsenal have going for them is that it’s only early December and they have already ticked off United, Liverpool, Newcastle, Sunderland, Fulham, Chelsea and Villa away. So they don’t have that many games like today left.

One thing we have going for us is that, despite having a lot of young inexperienced players, we also have Donnarumma Dias Gvardiol (Stones Aké) Rodri Kovačić Foden and Haaland who know what it takes to win big trophies.

If you think you're gonna win it then it feels like you might not that has an effect.
If you're trying to get better so you can win it - then when you start to get better that has an effect.

Praise from Cesar!!!

Wow.... 23/24 vibes.

Silly equaliser against the tarquins and the Brighton mind melt and we should be clear.

If we can get Rodri halfway fit to share the load with Nico, get cherki on the pitch more regularly, aye marmoush fires at the AFCON and comes back invigorated and who knows... Mental really

Yeah, why not. Argubly our weakest squad for a while but nobody has took advantage.
Still a fair few twists and turns but if we are within 5 points going into feb then i reckon Pep may have a last hurrah.

I stand by what I said if Cole Palmer hits last seasons form they will be in the conversation
He was dire for the majority of last season. 2 seasons ago was his good season, padded with about 15 penalties.

Him and saka both have "emperors new clothes" reputations over the past 18-24 mths imo

Funny isn't it? If you listened to the media, Arsenal look like some hugely dominant team compared to everyone else yet we are sitting only two points behind.

We have plenty of areas to improve, where as I think Arsenal have been as good as they can be and there's still only 2 points in it..

That said, we still do need to make those improvements and that's what it'll come down to.

Arsenal are still very solid and I don't see them going on any really bad runs but will drop points, so we have to stay on them.

Let's not ignore other teams too. Villa have been superb since a poor start. Very good side. Eventually an unexpected team will win it again. I wouldn't rule them out. They're showing they can put impressive runs together.

Unai Emery is a very good manager as well. 2nd best manager in the league after Pep for me.

Sign Elliot Anderson and a right back, we can win this league. Still can’t believe we’re messing about with Nunez. I love all city players just a weak link for me. Rodri comes back big big chance to challenge.

Assuming we play to our best and you find your hard games tough, I'd go:
CityArsenal
Leeds (H) - WinChelsea (A) - Draw
Fulham (A) - WinBrentford (H) - Win
Sunderland (H) - WinVilla (A) - Loss
Palace (A) - LossWolves (H) - Win
West Ham (H) - WinEverton (A) - Draw
Forest (A) - WinBrighton (H) - Win
Sunderland (A) - WinVilla (H) - Win

18 points City - Losing to Palace (A)
14 points Arsenal - Drawing to Chelsea (A), Everton (A) and losing to Villa (A).

I think the timeslot of the Everton game makes it tough for you.

I also think our Sunderland (A) game is a lot easier than it was for you, they have 8 or 9 at AFCON. 4 of which started against you and 2 came on.

That's my optimistic view, realistic is we get about the same points.
