Protest against Sheikh Mansour on Weds 14 January 2026 at Etihad Stadium

any Blue supporting this should fuck right off - its the "ethno-Christan" right wing politics being brought into our club and our game in general. If you fall for this bullshit but like sky blue"football" shirts there is a political Party that should suit your needs with a season ticket price of £25 a year led by a grifter. Off ya fuck.
No, they shouldn't fuck off. It's their right to protest about a reprehensible issue. If we had an Israeli statesman running our club, I would expect abundant protests. This is no different.

It's our club, and it's our voices that matter most. That was the case before Sheikh Mansour arrived, and it will be the case long after he's gone.

Questions (playing Devil's advocate, not my opinions)
  • Have they got a point?
  • If it was against utd's owners would we be all for it?
  • Why now?
  • Why this conflict in particular when there's so many others to choose from?
  • Who is ultimately funding this (smells like Soros)?
here is a BBC article that describes the war in Sudan. From the scale described it is strange that so little is reported when others are intensively although clearly Ukraine is much closer to home.

Does Mansour “run our club”? I didn’t think he did. I can’t imagine he spends much time doing that at all, though I’m only speculating.

The selective nature of this is what people react against, and I think that’s fair to acknowledge. Are this organisation protesting in this way outside every UAE-linked interest around the world?

Anyway I shan’t be going down to protest, but if you’re going I of course recognise your right to do so. Fill yer boots etc.

This topic header needs changing. My intial thought was why the hell would Etihad protest against one of it's shareholders. I didn't realise it's just some part time knobs with a shitty flag outside the stadium

Seems a perfectly reasonable issue to protest about. UAE links to the war in Sudan are well documented, as are the level of atrocities in the conflict. No reason for City fans to get wound up about it IMO, it's a free country.

No idea how legit the organisation organising it is, a quick google doesn't reveal much about them. Lots of these "Christian" organisations seem to be racist/islamophobic oriented (see Tommy Robinson's "conversion") but not all by any means.

That is pretty disingenuous mate. The link between City and the Sheik is pretty well known throughout the UK and far stronger than 'every UAE-linked interest around the world'. The fact that HRH is personally named in these allegations makes the club a natural target for protests.

I work with a Sudanese bloke, massive United fan. Says its all nonsense and all the protesters are paid disruptors. He does support the RSF though and came in work buzzing his head off and showing me videos of people wearing dead generals intestines as necklaces so maybe he isn't the guy to trust on the matter.

City actually give him security shifts sometimes so he'll probably go sort them out if they protest.

maybe they should look closer to home first. UK made weapons are owned by the RSF

A while? How long I’ve only just start noticing it last 2 weeks! You can bet the media will latch on to it because it will get clicks
Tbf there was a thread somewhere about this a few weeks ago where lots of posters were posting. I guess you can believe our owners and their statement of having nothing whatsoever to do with it. Or go with what's been reported and they are knee deep in it.

So you support the concept of 'right to protest' when it supports your core values but are wholly against them when they conflict with your interests.

Gotcha.

what do CSW have to do with our club?

I’m in no way defending what is happening ins Sudan or the UAE part in it.

I’ve just seen the president of the CSW is Jonathan Aitken. Have a read of the Libel, arrest and prison section of his wikipedia page and tell me you would be happy to be aligned to him.

Everyone has the right to protest, doesn't matter how much of a **** you are.

Which weapons does the RSF use that are UK made?

All I see are reports of Militec's popup training targets which the UK exports for training purposes to the UAE and a dual use engine (civilian/military) from a UK subsidiary of a US company (Cummins) that the UAE uses in their UAE produced APCs. Neither of which are UK weapons.

I note the media are very misleading when referring to the Militec's training targets as "Small-arms targeting systems/devices", obviously inferring these are used to target in combat, not that its a fancy moving pop up target with no combat role. Militec doesnt produce anything besides these moving target training systems.
