FA Cup - 3rd Round Draw - Exeter H - (KO TBC)

Thanks for the report. I didn't know about your connections to Ampadu, and Stansfield. Ampadu is doing well at Leeds. We played them recently. They are a very physical side and so is Ampadu.

Ampadu came through as a 15 year old and played in the first team (same squad as Ollie Watkins), unbelievable talent for that age was bossing it against League 2 veterans - was used sparingly because of his age but you could see he was a future Prem star. Made the wrong choice with Chelsea in my view and should have chosen Arsenal of the interested two. Chelsea obviously hoard players and he ended out on loan to various Italian sides.

His dad Kwame also played for us and is well thought of down here. Recently been added to the coaching staff at Celtic - some rise as post playing career here he was working part time in Habitat (as teens we got his autograph at the till)

I lived in a village called Silverton in second year, which was a beautiful place.
Small world - this is where I grew up! Former blue Neil McNab lived there whilst manager at Exeter.

City have always been my first club due to family connections but I've held a season ticket at both MCFC and Exeter City (in my teens when the 225 mile journey to Manchester wasn't doable) so this will be a weird one for me.

Christ, Neil McNab... one of the worst managers we have had

One of many people who contributed to our relegation out of the football league for the first time in our history

He’s only doing his job but there are a lot of ties much more attractive to the broadcasters than ours. Not sure why he’s so concerned about ‘prime time’ - FA Cup TV money is the same* whatever time a game kicks off.

*It’s a lower amount if a game is on a streaming platform only and not on linear TV.

Absolutely. Would be a great gesture if we offered to give up our share of the gate receipts to help them out. Sounds like they’re really struggling atm.
This would be enormously appreciated, however unlikely it seems. Probably the cheapest good PR you could buy!
(That or purchase one of our Academy prospects for a few million - although we'd only get the money in installments and still have to pay tax on the whole lot up front, so would probably end up being out of pocket. It's tough being a minnow!). UTC!

For me it was the days of the New Inn, great little boozer and we got on like a house on fire with the landlord cos we spent so much lol. Lived in a bordering on derelict old farmhouse called Lower Hayne, it’s been done up now and sold for millions, was a proper fucking dump when we lived there.

It is odd with 6k gates the club continues to struggle financially.

Taken from the article:
"One is majority-owned and backed by the wealth of an oil-rich state, while the other was saved from bankruptcy by a few thousand fans from a town in Devon just over two decades ago."
The bbc just can't/won't stop will they. You know we're self sufficient these days right.
Sorry Exeter fans for somewhat highjacking the thread

So we play twice in 3 days or brighton make the journey up here twice in 3 days wonder which way they will pick
The logical way to go would be for us to play Wednesday then Saturday. No big deal to play two home games in that timeframe especially when there will be major squad rotation. Rags v Brighton will be on TV so no issue to play that on the Sunday and better for Brighton to have the additional day.
But logic often goes out of the window as we know!
