9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

Thought he was awesome again today. Created immense amounts of space that Doku and Foden should have taken advantage of. It is funny how football works from different perspectives.

Played really well. Dont give a shit how few touches he had, watch him work off the ball. He works as hard if not harder than anybody else in the side. Tied up both centre backs providing so much space around him. Do wish he would go back to smashing his penalties, never been a fan of the rollers. They're easily saved if the keeper guesses right as we saw against the dippers.

That was a big penalty. His record isn’t great so that was going one way or the other - there are fans saying Haaland doesn’t do it in big games so hopefully that goal puts it to bed

It was good to see that he’s changed his penalty taking technique. Slowed the run up down and also introduced a slight stutter to make the keeper commit

I think there is a genuine possibility that Madrid tries to swap Vinicius with Haaland next summer, now that it has become pretty evident that the Mbappe-Vini experiment is a wash. Not direct trade ofc and obviously we would need to dig deep in our pockets to compensate for the difference in value, but I think the Haaland camp is sending signals.

Mbappe will walk out the door if Haaland comes in, no way his ego can handle it.

I reckon a 10 year contract is a bigger signal tbh.

There is so much wrong with that post!

Haalands contract has locked him at City until at the very least he has 3 years left, so what's that? 2031/32?

Madrid would have to offer up £250m bare minimum.

Also, in regards to Vinicius. After the complete and utter contempt and disregard to a fellow professional in Rodri at the Ballon d'Or last year, not a chance will City sign him. Our club doesn't sign players like that.

I would go as far to say I don't want us to sign any of the current Brazilian national team. They are all utter gash compared to their compatriots of years gone by, yet they have the delusions of grandeur that they are on their level.

They can try all they want. He’s not going anywhere

lol I should have known that people here will get riled up at any hint of such an event.

I honestly don't want Haaland in Madrid, so theres no reason to attack me, Im just a messenger. I agree with the poster who said that Mbappe would not take it well. But I know how Florentino operates. He doesnt care about that. And for him if one major star leaves, he will want an even bigger one as a replacement. I'd prefer a harder working striker who is great at heading, presses a lot to cover for Mbappe's poor work rate and doesn't have the same stature so there is clear hierarchy.

Again, don't kill the messenger, but I don't think the ten year contract means a lot if Haaland decides he wants something else in his career. Make no mistake, he has a lot of power. It would take a lot of money, but if he pushes for an exit, I don't think it will be 250 million pounds, it will probably be somewhere around the 150 million mark. And if we sell Vinicius to PSG or the Saudis for any sum around 100, and Rodrygo for 50-70 as is probably his value, we could probably go up to 200 for Haaland, especially if he communicates to City that he wants to leave.

But these are signals imo. Its just how the whole game works. You dont say stuff like this randomly in this position.

It’s why Haaland signed a 10 year contract he knows he asks to leave the club will him if a club comes back with the fee we want! That be in 3/5 years for me and if his record carries on like it is we will want 200m and Madrid will have the money!

Nothing for you to worry about relax don’t get your knickers in a twist over it I’m cool…

He gets more bonuses or whatever with the 10 year contract. Also things change, like Vini on the exit door. Dont underestimate star players' power, its all Im saying. I wish it wasnt like that...
