What was the whole City / Rangers thing? I remember years ago seeing people with half and half shirts … is it still a thing?
It was just a laugh that died in the 70's
Basically half of the Kippax chanted Celtic and in response the other half chanted Rangers.
I accept some took (religous) allegiance to one of the 2 Glasgow clubs but most took it as a laugh.
It wasn't quite the half and half scarfs of today but it was half and half hats. Never saw shirts ?

The religion bit was that allegedly the rags were a catholic club and we were protestant but I don't think that's true.

No quite a few Rangers used to come and watch City for a few games a season, particularly v the rags, mainly I think due to rags association with celic

“City win in Bernabeu for only the 2nd time“
As if teams go and win there regularly.
Quick google and United have never won there and only beaten them 2 times at home.
But they have history, don’t they….?
I think that’s 15 times we’ve played them and it’s 5 wins each and 5 draws, which isn’t too shabby.

Marched to Old Trafford with a coach load of Rangers lads back in the 80s, absolute fearless warriors

I used to like McCoist and for all I know he may be a decent bloke.

But regardless of his views on our beloved club I find his constant chatter irritating and add Fletchers bantz and its agony.
His input is just completely meaningless garbage, shit like "he really shoud have done better there" and "I'll tell you what that's a great effort".
Nothing insightful has ever come out of the dullard.

went on into the 80s

He was fine when he was on Amazon
Makes me think more than ever that the piper plays the tune. Or the narrative

When RM score Mccoist is raving about their goal.
When City scored he's moaning about the RM defence.

Thats about 90% of the time he pundits on for City. Doesnt matter who we are playing or what the current score is.

Its the little stuff.

“Fletch” is a pub bore who won’t stop rabbiting when you’re trying to concentrate

Also, on 90mins he said “what do you make of Real Madrid” - I’m no card carrying conspiracy theorists but if Liverpool or United were winning away at Real Madrid, I don’t believe the commentators would ask about a Spanish team rather than the English team they are covering
