Seem to remember us going one down to signature awful defending. Wide open on the left, cross comes in and Eze free on the back post with Rico 10 yards behind him.
Failed offside trap, not Lewis's fault, he was holding the line.

The problem was the left side of defence, at this point there's zero chance of any defender getting back in time to catch Eze

Difficult fixture this, these bastards always seem to cause us problems. Have to go as strong as possible depending on fitness. Absolutely no Savinho or Lewis no matter what.

……………….Donnarumma
Nunes…..Stones…….Gvardiol…..O’Reilly
………………..Gonzalez
…..Bernardo…………Foden
Cherki………………………..Doku
……………..Haaland

Palace friend tells me they will be without Munoz and Saar, also that when Norwood Junction is shut then Selhurst stn post-match is a kettling nightmare - they just walk back to the spoons in East Croydon, and maybe EC station is the best way for Blues, despite the walk...

I'd play the ones who are off to AFCOM they'll appreciate a run out for fitness sake if nothing else.
Personally I disagree. They will be avoiding tackles to preserve themselves for Morocco. However I do think Khusanov should start and let Nunes have a 30 mins sub appearance. Ake also for Gvardiol, who can strengthen our defence for the last 20-30 mins when we usually tire.

How so?

I assume you probably thought the lineup Pep put out at Fulham, which couldn't get out of our own half in the second half, was good, right?
For a start you have two out of form wingers playing alongside the worlds best striker. That might be okay against Exeter but Palace are 4th for a good reason.

We need rest and rotation over su Ch a long season but we’ve got Brentford in the locker so don’t think we need it for this weekend
Agreed, but Sunday isn't that game, they can have a week off from Sunday and some of them can drop out of West Ham at home if necessary

Donnarumma
Nunes
Dias
Gvardiol
O'Reilly
Nico
Bernardo
Reijnders
Doku
Foden
Haaland

This isn't the game for rotation and experimentation, it's a must win game. Only player on the periphery I'd consider would be marmoush but then I can't leave doku out of a side, we lose nearly all our threat without him and I suspect he'll come on for Haaland at some point.

Nico and Bernardo in the bloody middle not nico on his own and Bernardo chasing the keeper, foden off the right, reijnders behind haaland.

I wouldn't rest Doku up against a right back lacking match sharpness.

It's going Doku against Clyne or a player out of position like Devenny or Sosa.

Can't be resting Doku with that opportunity.
Great point (I didn't know that), though that could present a great opportunity for Marmoush. Either way, I'd expect to see Doku at some point, just not the whole game.

Be good to see Phil have a good game, was anonymous against Real, and generally he's anything but that.
