I'm not arguing for anything, though I'm generally of the view that a professional volunteer army is much better than recalcitrant unwilling teenagers. Lots of the military seem to agree.

Merely pointing out that if you "don’t see any issues in training the population through national service" then you're not opening your eyes. There's a very obvious huge list of issues with thi, whether you believe on balance it's good or bad.

Well, the military don't seem much in favour. And the post ww2 contingent didn't exactly find it universally rewarding. But I think we're off topic now, so I'll leave it at that.

So it's almost certainly invention.

Exactly. Seeing these young Ukrainian and Russians being targeted by drones while they are wounded on the floor makes me feel sick. You go through schooling, meeting friends and doing what young people should be doing, to dying in a field in the arse end of nowhere a few years later. All for what?
