Crystal Palace (A) I PL I Post Match Thread

Big win that against a very physical Palace side and I think we would have lost that game earlier in the season. What really pleases me is that we didn't let Palace bully us. Defensively all the players put in a shift and we were rewarded with a clean sheet.

We are starting to look a bit like the City of old, the players all have smiles on their faces and we are looking like a team difficult to beat.
Watch out Arsenal !
 
Not sure that performance will get the plaudits that it deserves but that was a team that means business. Palace are not easy to play against and are very adept at the kind of game that if done well is most likely to get something against City. However, only once, late on, did I feel like Palace were about to score.

Excellent end to another big week.

A flattering scoreline, but it will be hard for any team to stop us from scoring now - the goals and creativity are off the scale, and Cherki was DeBruyne like today, with Nunes providing the solid platform that allowed it. Our Achilles' heel is the physicality in the centre of midfield, and we conceded a lot of ground in that area today. To combat it, you have to control possession until the return of Rodri, who will be a brilliant addition to Gonzalez in the centre. I thought Pep was late with the subs, and would have liked to have seen Marmoush on for Reijnders earlier, or Savinho.
 
Lot of tired legs out there so great credit to them hopefully Pep will given them a rest especially Nico G who shouldn’t be even on the bench
The Lino in first half lost his flag and if any of those supposed chances had gone in I’m sure VAR would have ruled them out defence was miles better second half and the result was deserved
Shame about the 2 OGs that helped arse stay top
