47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

I don’t get these types of comments
Tbh, I can understand them - apart from giving him a rest and negating any injury risk, he never seems to benefit from spending time in the company of Bellingham, in particular, does he?

Phil is clearly enjoying himself again and whilst we'd all like to see him as the star of a winning England team, he obviously doesn't enjoy being surrounded by some of the brash, arsehole characters to be found in the national squad.

A lot aren’t really arsed about international football, myself included.

If he doesn’t play for England, he’s fresher in mind and body to play for us, and add to that they don’t appreciate him enough. If England were serious they’d build the team around him, that would be the case if he were any other nationality.

MUCH better second half after a very poor first one.

Opposition teams just can't give him a sniff around the box. He'll make you pay every time.

Think it took him a while to get in the game because of Doku not playing on the left and you could see how he wanted to come inside. Tijjani really didnt help with the midfield balance today in my opinion.

I don’t think he played well but he still impacted the game. Last season he was playing shite and not scoring or assisting. If he gets 15+ goals, we will be right in the mix.

His goal redeemed an otherwise poor game performance until that point. He struggled with the press when taking balls on the half turn, and lost possession a number of times.

I thought he looked sharper after the goal — as if we needed more proof that it is as much a mental game as physical. I know he can improve over the season, just when we need his best.
