That’s a very good Palace team that doesn’t concede goals. We rode our luck at times giving ball away in midfield but overall that’s a very good team performance. Who’d have thought Savi would come on and not give the ball away once….albeit he only had the ball the one time but that dribble felt like an eternity

I said we played well in the original post. I said we were much better in the second half and much more connected and commented upon various players who played well (NOR, Nico G, Foden and cherki - includng his ability to control a game tempo like Spannish Dave)

I was there on the Kippax in the 80s so its probably not the best idea to try and be condescending to someone you dont know.....makes you look a little silly to say the least

Could have been a red card. Grabbing a player's ankle isn't a genuine attempt to play the ball.

Had it been outside the box (and obviously a different goalkeeper, as Henderson is immune from punishment for fouls outside the box), it would have been a red card, but in this instance the double-jeopardy rule is invoked and the referee's discretion comes into play as to whether the foul was severe enough to warrant a sending off.

Basically, another subjective rule that can be applied depending on who is playing.

Well said. We all knew this was going to be a tough place to go, we won 3-0 and they're still whinging. We're second to "runaway leaders" Arsenal and now we have a superior goal difference would have been top ON MERIT (i.e. same number of matches played) but for a scabby last minute own goal last night. But we're improving while they're faltering.

Another new record set today by Pep, 150 wins with 3 or more goals scored but that will have gone over their heads. Still pushing for trophies, records set every week, a quarter final to play in midweek and they're still moaning. Who do they think is going to come in and do any better?

It's a win you have to really admire in the context of it being a proper banana skin vs a tough side...

Played scruffy as fuck the first portion of the first half. Got fucking lucky multiple times and have to credit our back line for drawing multiple offsides calls.

Gonzo looked gassed all game and his mistakes I'll forgive as he's played admirably for a long stretch with little support.

Phil was loose in a bad way really until he scored then looked like he got the plot.

Erl pretty much as we expect.

Donna handled free kicks and corners with more authority today IMO.
