WSL 25/26 Discussion - The Other Teams

Some of you need to let the "Chloe Kelly Derangement Syndrome" go. Having her live rent free in your head isn't worth the aggravation.

This award is not necessarily about "the best". It may be taken that way by some but it clearly is not. Mary Earps won it in 2023.

Zara Tindall (Phillips at the time) won it in 2006. Beth Tweddle placed third that year. If you don't know who Tweddle is I wouldn't be surprised. Tweddle won a gold medal at the World Gymnastics Championships that year, in a sport typically dominated by the Americans, Chinese, Romanians, and Russians. That is a big deal. Perhaps if it had been an Olympics year she would have won the BBC award.

Kelly is gone. Getting upset about her isn't worth having your blood pressure spike when you see or hear about her. That said, I have inconsequential things that get on my nerves.

Spudettes almost as bad as their men's team. Winning 0-3 away at the ragettes with less than 20mins to play and only come away with a point.
Didn't see the game, but just saw the results and the stats. Looks like the Ragettes battered them just as much as we did. Sounds like Spurs did what their men normally do against us - i.e. take every single chance.

No one is getting upset mate. It's a forum to discuss footballing things. She's been nominated for a sports award and people are allowed to discuss it

A couple of posters on here want to ban any negative discussion addressing the controversial Kelly and Taylor. Perhaps I missed it, but I don’t remember any of these two posters repeatedly attempting to ban the criticism of other players/coaches, including on the men’s football forums. Looks like they have undisputed passions for Kelly and Taylor, which is ok if not for their persistent attempts to silence other posters who are critical of these two. In fact, one of them only shows on the women’s forum to lecture other posters that they should move on from criticizing Taylor because he belongs to the past now!! BS, really. Very recently, Taylor and Kelly were very important part of City’s women team, and that lasted for several years. Undoubtedly, Taylor and Kelly had a controversial, if not bad, history. Football fans everywhere don’t forget the bad apples (players, coaches or owners) even after many years that can extend to 20-30 years or sometimes more. Perhaps the two fans of Taylor and Kelly should move on from lecturing the others and learn to ignore the negative comments if these comments touch some of their weak spots. It is a shame really this is happening on a football forum where one of its aims is to discuss the positives and negatives of football related issues, such as players and coaches, past and present.
