That’s the point though. The actual foul was clearly not an attempt to play the ball even though he initially went for the ball and got bypassed.

Thanfully it doesn't matter we won 3-0.

What a result! I wasn't confident before the game, especially with the Doku news. To beat Palace away from home 3 - 0 is a fantastic result. Especially knowing Arsenal had already won and the pressure was on. GET IN!!!!

Lets hope we can put the pressure on Arsenal next week with a win against the Hammers,they play Saturday night at Everton if we win they would need a win to go back above us.

Such an impressive week with away wins at Madrid and Palace. The team is rapidly growing in maturity you feel now. Just hoping Rodri can get fit. If we add him back into this team along with another forward we could be looking at a really exciting second half of the season.

I know but it's one of those quirks.

Fair enough I suppose, goalie off and a pen is extremely harsh, although not as bad nowadays as teams always have a goalie on the bench and 5 subs to use.

I’d guess that the ‘official’ argument would be that rhe ball was not travelling towards goal when Savinho was fouled, just as it was in the final. Not sure I’d agree with that argument but it is a better case than it was in the final.

I'd say Phil is at the upper end of 'young'. Still looks about 15 though - and that's a compliment!!

The good news is we are scoring lots of goals again. That always helps.

We are just a bit lightweight in the middle for me. Teams get from A to B a bit too easily at times for my liking.

Pep knows and is working on it. Rodri to come back - albeit it's likely to be towards the end of the season before he hits his full stride again - as is the case for all players recovering from that injury.
