That's disappointing. How many teams make it from the WSL?It would be bigger than a miracle, since we are not in it.

3 at the moment, we finished 4th, given current form we've a good chance of making it next season. That's disappointing. How many teams make it from the WSL?
The club must surely be trying to get her signed long-term, right? Her contract ends next year. I imagine every club in the world will be vying for her signature.
Really insightful reply. Thanks.I feel fairly relaxed about this one. Sure every club on the planet would want her, but realistically theres only a handful of clubs that could sign her:
Barcelona - Cant even afford to retain their existing players at the moment. Profits from the womens team are currently being sent over to the men's. Squad being padded out with youth players. They also have Pajor so Shaw not a priority.
Lyon - Money no object but they have Katoto, Hegerberg and Chawinga. The domestic league is wildly uncompetitive and shes also already played in France
The US - Seems most likely destination if she does eventually leave us but the salary cap makes it unlikely that they could meet her demands in what is likely to be the most lucrative contract she'll ever sign. They have changed the rules to allow each team one mega contract (so they could keep Rodman in the NWSL) but i think teams will prioritise keeping USWNT players in the States
Arsenal - Russo is their golden girl. They need to break the bank on cm and lw
Chelsea - She'd be brill for them but we'd match whatever theyre willing to offer her
City - Best team in the league presently, loved by teammates, fans and the club hierarchy. She calls Manchester "home" and we have a great Caribbean diaspora in Mcr which means shes able to enjoy elements of her culture (which clearly means the world to her). We also have the financial resource to keep her.
Our recent track record of player retention has been very good and put DoF will be all over this one. Wont surprise me if its already been agreed and will be announced by end of Jan. Its clear from all of the videos and celebrations the club laid on to celebrate her 100th goal that shes v much valued.
I doubt she'd move to another WSL team. She has family ties in Manchester and as long as we show the ambition that seems to be running through the City Women's team to go on and win things then that would be a big part in her staying. Do think it's vital that we have silverware to show at the end of this season though otherwise that might not be the case.I feel fairly relaxed about this one. She better score another 100 then before the end of the season - just to make sure we win something :-)I doubt she'd move to another WSL team.
