4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

We let two players go in the summer, who were offering more. I say that as someone who broadly agreed with not giving KDB a new deal because of his fitness issues and with letting Gundo go, after what was a very average season by his previous standards. Both were more use, even last season than this fella and we paid £40m+ for the privilege.

If I was a betting man, I would have decent money on him being back in Milan on loan within 12 months.
this is why bookies are rich
gundo year older slowing down
kev sadley had bad injury and wasnt same after
but still

Your comments echo my thoughts. I've not seen one post yet saying this guy WON'T be good enough, but the self righteous on here like to interpret things in another way. People can only speak about what they've seen from him so far which in all honesty isn't very much. He really needs to step it up.
he played next to haaland in first half were for 30 minutes ws didnt touch the ball in their half of pitch but still he had poor game

squeezed into 6th in goals and assists per 90, mainly due to his Champions League contributions at the moment.

Not happening for him.

Will he come good? I'm not too sure. His biggest attribute is reading the game but even that's missing at the moment and pace, strength, tackling, tracking back just don't get me started.

However, it's a long season, hopefully he can get it together.

If he's still performing similar this time next season at 28 by then, it'll time to move him on.

Spot on

Yesterday was the perfect time to comment, because we won 3-0, but it was never a 3-0 game, and Palace missed some chances originating from our mistakes.

At times our midfield looks a bit lightweight but whereas Foden and Cherki are now scoring or assisting seemingly every week and Gonzales is emerging as an influential figure, it's only natural that we question the other players

However it doesn't mean that we think they're hopeless and should be dropped or sold. It just needs a bit of tinkering until Rodri returns (assuming he does return at some point)

I'd also add that virtually every game Reijnders has a good opportunity to score and there's always the potential for him to enjoy a purple patch of goals.

Will be important in the 2nd half of the season.

New league, new country, new tactics, etc. Normal struggles. His ability to run with the ball will win us points.

Yeah, he’s got good running power but really needs to get his head up. One in the first half he had 2 passing options on and just ran until he ran into the defender. He should have squared it to give Eli a tap in. Plus we might have gotten out of jail against Spurs if he’d played one of easiest passes you’ll see to put Marmoush clear. Again he just carried on running

I'm rooting for the guy, probably like most of us. We're more than likely going to need him, but playing better than what he is. Some posters need not to take umbrage at the slightest bit of warranted criticism of a player as well.

It's hard to judge him on yesterday's game. We had a lot of players who want the ball to feet and we didn't do a very good job at keeping the ball or playing through Palace. There aren't many who come out of yesterday with huge praise.

For me he's the sort of player who should be largely deeper on the pitch, playing simple football and dictating play before timing a run into the box or space to make things happen. A similar role to Gundo.

Don't know who the co-comm was on my American stream yesterday was but he said any young midfielder watching the game should watch Reminders for the positions he takes up and the way he arrives in the box without markers

They also said “that was an all-action display” as he left the field. Ridiculous comments.
