10 | Rayan Cherki - 2025/26

The new Spanish Dave is forming.

I can give no higher complement.

In terms of numbers, he'll be more like the new KDB than the new David. He is like a hybrid between them.

The thing he needs to learn from them is to work hard off the ball. Then he'll be amongst the best in the world and on their level (or better).

Yes he is and I almost put a Dave/Kev combination but he's not got the tracking back or shit power of Kev...yet.

Can anyone put their finger on which player from the past that he plays like? Doesnt even have to be city related. Bernabia prob the closest but hes just so unique its hard to know who he reminds me of, maybe Cazorla at a push. It has me stumped.

What a player though.
Joe Cole for me, just ridiculous raw talent

Not particularly quick but can escape from defenders and can pick out some great passes

He's been brilliant which again blows the bullshit of needing a full season or be a mature age to perform in a Pep team. Well done Rayan.
Some players just have it. Natural footballers who are blessed with ability that can't be taught.

That doesn't negate the fact that others don't and need time to settle and learn our game.

Not like you to put a negative on a positive., :-)

Cant believe he is getting compared to Silva this guy as gone past more players in 5 months than Silva did in 10 years

I'm seeing something of Rodney Marsh in him - that ability to go past players without seeming to have much pace and of course the flair moments. Or perhaps its the No 10 shirt ...

In my eyes, he needs to play centrally and make the best use of his ability to use either foot
Maybe long term. Let him get used to the league first. But also Foden is so good at receiving the ball in those tight central spaces that you can't not play him there. Let's be honest, it's all elementary, because they'll switch around so much during the game anyway. But I think if you get Cherki and Foden close together things will happen.
