Media discussion - 2025/26

There are 4 articles on the bbc football website about last nights game and 2 are open for comments, clickbait at its finest.

I think Thomas T. will take no notice of these arse licking wankers. Not like our gareth, who would bore your granny to death and let Bellingham do what the fuck he wanted.
That's true about Little Tommy Tuchel, he wants to win and couldn't give a monkeys about who the media (or even fans) wants in the team. Such a breath of fresh air after Southgate, a shame that he only seems destined to be here for this tournament.

It was a good game ffs.
It was a good game because it had goals in it, something the product demands yet doesn't always receive (mainly due to var).
But come on if Bournemouth didn't have butter fingers in the net, or a defender assisting Cunha when he could of quite easily put the ball in row Z, or fatty Hooper giving the rags an early Xmas present by pretending to see an handball then Bournemouth win that game quite comfortably.
Then would we be waking upto 'game of the century' headlines?
Not a chance, it would be 'Amorin out'
The circus continues, as it always will do with the English media

United didnt win and look hilariously beatable, there were 8 goals, United through away 3 leads, what more is there to want?

I agree it was a good game, but I would wholeheartedly say that the Fulham v City was better for the neutrals, as we were expected to win but almost through it away. Not sure how the BBC decided that last night's game was any better, or how it was good enough to be regarded as one of thee best games ever. It was good, but it wasn't great

Didn't see last night's game, but 8 goals is obviously going to get attention.
But, how many of the 8 were goals of individual skill or great team play ?
The Fulham 4 v City 5 match, had some really great goals.
Also, the attempted come-back from Fulham made it a cliff-hanger...

Good shout. I thought at first glance it was the cut of the grass, but it isn't, and they've shaded the 'offside' section which makes it look more like thats the cut.
But they were using the image to show it was offside surely?

Just a different narrative from our 5-4 victory over Fulham, this 4-4 is a great game of football, where as our win - we have a leaky defence, even though our game with Fulham was quality.

I was listening to the commentary on R5Live in Sunday and Jobi Macanuff, who I quite like, threw it in at the end that City's defence are suspect. Yet we sit with the 3rd best defence, one goal more conceded than Palace and Chelsea.

The Fulham game is their only source for lazy analysis.
Don't you dare forget Leeds.
They won the media's 'we scored twice at the Etihad' trophy

Agree about McAnuff, he seems fair and impartial, so he won't last long at the top table (he has been excellent, reporting on the EFL for a while).
In fairness, City fans are still very nervous about the defensive capabilities of the team.
Pep is currently picking the same defence (and whole team), which breeds confidence, but the squad players will need to play against Brentford and West Ham.
So let's hope the changed team's defence stands firm...

A lot of changes against Brentford I’m sure, but why would players be rested for West Ham when the game after that is eight days away?

I think several players (especially Bernie, O'Reilly, Gonzalez and Phil) are looking a bit tired and could benefit from a rest.
Pep seldom makes early substitutions, so they often play the whole 90+ minutes.
The squad players need games to prove themselves and hopefully give Pep selection headaches...
