30 | Claudio Echeverri - 2025/26 (on loan at Leverkeusen)

Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed that Claudio Echeverri’s loan from Manchester City will be terminated, meaning the young attacking midfielder will not be available for Saturday’s Bundesliga trip to RB Leipzig.

“We’ve made the decision together with Manchester City that he will return,” Leverkusen coach Kasper Hjulmand confirmed at a press conference on Friday.

“As a result, he won’t be in the squad. This was decided over the past few days.”

Echeverri has been limited to just 270 minutes across 11 appearances for Die Werkself this season due to the fierce competition for playing time in the attacking midfield.

“I think Claudio is a great player and I have a lot of trust in him and his development. But we have a lot of players in his position. It's really difficult to give minutes to everyone,” Hjulmand said.

“He has trained well and is a great kid, there has been no problem with him. He has huge potential, but it simply wasn’t possible to give him more playing time here."

He wasn’t ready for that level, all he’s done is play every other game in Argentina.

He went against the clubs instruction and now all the noise around him is that he wants to go back to Argentina.

Do as your told or get sold, he’s achieved fuck all yet to making demands.
 
I dont blame him for not wanting to go to Girona previously.

The club don't want him going to Girona because there's some amazing development plan there. They want him there because they own the place and its the best European club CFG own outside of City.

They're fucking tragic this year. He's not going to learn anything getting smashed on the regular. At least with Reis he's a defender so there'll be plenty to do.

He's still a kid. If it's just for 6 months send him back to River and let him play there. He has continental football in the Sudamericana in addition to being at the top end of one of South Americas best leagues. Alvarez didn't exactly suffer for being at River.

Assuming Girona reports are correct then that's good but if his entourage pull him to River Plate then might as well fuck him off.
