Longest time in one job

21 yrs at a chemical plant.
Just done 10 yrs at my current job (never had 1 day of sickness) and just took voluntary redundancy to boost my pot for our move upto Scotland in the New Year

29 years a civil servant - various disciplines across the Department of Justice.

Going down to 4 days next March then all being well the GLW hits 60 in two years and we both go down to 3.

Yes, we like our holidays too much to pack it in all together.

Working from home a lot helps too, the absence of the daily commute for some of the week doesn’t half help in the winter.

Normally I would say that I would love a private chef but I've just knocked up two lovely eggs, three sausages and two rounds of toast.

I’m an injection moulding technician, been doing this job since 1994, been with my present company since 2012, best company I’ve ever worked for but we’re in the automotive industry & it’s on its arse, can’t see us still being in buisness this time next yr unfortunately

Six months at Refuge Assurance on Oxford Road in Manchester, then joined North West Water, where I worked for 39 years and 9 months.

Opted for redundancy with 12 month's tax free redundancy offer. I could have stayed another three months and missed out on redundancy but would have got to go on a freebie overnight stay with meal at a posh hotel for my long service award. This got cancelled anyway because of Covid.

Retired at 59 with a decent pension.

Been at same company 23 years since I was 17, just been informed I won’t be getting a end of year bonus (first time ever) and starting to feel pushed out.

That's a hell of a lot of experience they are risking losing. Wankers.

Same organisation for 37 years and travelled all over the place - England, Wales, Scotland, NI, France, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Hebrides, Orkney, Shetland, you name it - sometimes the work was even quite interesting!
Still glad when I retired 2 years ago though.

30 years as a Prison Officer. Didn’t realise the stress levels I’d been under till I took early retirement. Couldn’t have coped on the wings till I’m 68, retirement age, with the levels of violence towards staff.

Slightly off-topic but I hate that phrase “round of toast”, it’s so vague. You’ve quantified the eggs and sausages, but have left us guessing on the size of toaster you own, which is probably huge being that side of the Atlantic (I also hate the use of the word “pond” here).
