City going after fans who gave their ticket to mates at Madrid

Well of course it is. It’s an opinion, on a forum

However if we have a spell of not winning anything, people who are only there because we are successful probably will drop off - I think that’s a fair thing to say.

Also when the best manager in the world leaves chances are we won’t be as successful.
Opinion, yes, but dont pass it off as fact.

You’re probably right on that last point. However I do think when pep leaves and we have the inevitable period of not winning trophies most of the glory hunters will disappear
Eh? We won nothing last season. Don't tell me we might not win anything for more than one season when Pep leaves!!
Seriously though, there are many different types of glory hunters and tourists.
PL tourists will continue to attend a game or two as will CL tourists if we continue to qualify and "loyal" fans continue to swerve the competition. Glory hunters can piss off anyway if they aren't willing to put up with a drop in success.
The problem we have is how to fill the additional seats, irrespective of whether they are filled with glory hunters, tourists, young City fans or returning lapsed fans. In my opinion filling the seats should be the priority rather than maximising match-day income and this can't be achieved by making it difficult and/or expensive to buy matchday tickets and new season tickets. Anybody ST holder who sits next to a non-ST seat should be able to buy that seat on a match by match basis or as an ST for the remainder of the season or the following season.
Any chance of getting a decent atmosphere in the North Stand must be based on the same people being in the same seats for every game and this needs to be done by issuing standard season tickets. - The club should also allow fans to transfer there either permanently for the remainder of this season or on a match by match basis to see if they like the view and facilities.

Another urban myth, most of the high point supporter's dont hand their tickets on, they attend the game.
How about being in favour of the tickets that dont get sold through the loyalty scheme not getting passed on to all and sundry by the club.
The high pointers definitely still attend the domestic games, but there are some (I haven't a clue how many) who for a variety of reasons now pick and choose their European games.
My travelling companions in Villareal had all benefited from high pointers passing on their tickets and they weren't the only ones.

However for Madrid it shouldn't have been an issue as ultimately all supporters qualified for a ticket regardless

What fuckin planet are the powers that be on to think its a good idea to go after long term fans.
Its so short sited its bizarre!!

Ive said it before , the club are getting this badly wrong.

Sorriano is a money grabbing **** who actively despises ‘legacy fans’

As blues, we have to understand, no body making these decisions at the club are city fans.
They are merely tasked with a job and could not give a flying fuck about ‘us’ as long as the current till roll looks good.

The club had an open goal to ensure local support was secured for years to come but somehow hit row z.

What a shame
Yep. Not one director has any connection to City, Manchester or football.
A fucking disgrace.

I thought you don’t get points anymore for away games???

So I am not sure, this comment is relevant anymore??
Didn't realise that. Just checked and no ticket points for the madrid game. Brilliant, spend around £500 to go to a game and don't even get some points to help get tickets in future.

Hang on, they are expecting you to take your passport to the ground to be checked before entry to the game.

When i travel anywhere it gets locked in a safety deposit box, certainly wouldn’t be taking it anywhere near a day on the piss and a late kick off even for non drinkers still a big risk with pickpockets.

Would definitely say that’s one for City Matters/FSF
It’s a Spanish Law requirement, not City’s :0(

No Passport or Driver’s Licence, NO ENTRY ⛔

Yeah I agree but surely the low pointers would have qualified anyway
Or maybe we're just making the same point, but from different angles.
I am a Low Pointer :0)
( Funny comments to follow??!!)

I got my Ticket for this trip directly from the Club, 3 weekish in advance :0)

Match was not a sell out, quite a few empty seats, in the Away Section on the night!!

So with all the warnings regarding the Name Checks and ID checks, that would and were carried out!!

Can’t understand why anyone without their own name on the ticket and matching ID, would try and get in the game and not expect trouble or consequences??!!!

Them the breaks !!! :0)

I managed to do 4 days Solo Trip to Madrid including the match ticket, flights, accommodation, food, drinks, gallery visit and souvenirs for about £400!! :0)

No ticketing points!!!

But I did get to see City Win in the Bernabéu for the First Time!!!

So I am not complaining :0)

And looking forward to the next time :0)

Who knows I may take the Missus next time and spoil it all!!! :0)

LOL :0)
