PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I would agree in part of what Phil is saying there. I'd have my doubts that this "irrefutable body of evidence" exists given how long its gone on for.

But at the same time, if we're as guilty as some people say then why's it taken so long for this verdict to be reached.
And that’s it. They have to substantiate their wild allegations…and they can’t. So the rest is just PR management.

When Pep said he expected to hear by March, he meant March 2026.
Maybe it was his joke based on the similar sounding Catalan word "marxa" which can be interpreted as "in progress"

ja ho sabrem sobre la marxa
we’ll find out along the way

Or maybe I've been reading this thread for so fookin' long I've gone insane.

My wonderful simple mind would say ok, 115 charges, let's do one at a time. Charge 1. Premier league tell us what they think we've done, we show them we haven't. Charge 2. Premier league tell us what they think we've done, we show them we haven't. Charge 3. You can see where I'm going.. I'll give them a day and a half for each charge because im generous and appreciate the lawyers and legal industry need to warm their 6 bedroom houses and pay for private tuition.
So about 6 months it should take.

:-)
i agree your logic but in any court case case ever, whatever the charge, if the prosecution make an allegation you should always make them prove it, stay silent however how innocent you are else every single word out of your mouth will be used against you. Let them shoot themselves in the foot instead with their nonsense. They have to prove guilt, we dont have to prove innocence. If they wish to waste millions of pounds chasing a ghost leave them to it. An innocent party has nothing to prove to anyone.

It shows how expectations differ when it comes to class. For the big posh legal fraternity it will come when it comes, it’s far to complicated for you oiks to understand.

Try & get away with that in a blue collar industry.

It really is a piss take.

Since the BS of June? Quite a lot of us, really.

It's a ridiculous joke at this point, and paints a pretty damning picture of the whole process. I wouldn't trust any of them to decide what coffee they'd want in the morning; probably take them a month.

And then 11 months to write it down on a napkin.

From the annual report:

"As at the date of publishing these financial statements the independent Commission is still in the process of reviewing the matter. Based on their evaluation of the Group’s prospects and viability, the Directors confirm that they have a reasonable expectation that the Group will be able to continue in operation and meet its liabilities as they fall due within the 12 months following the approval of these financial statements."

When the Board states that it has a reasonable expectation of continued operation, this means that the auditor has reviewed and assessed the Board’s evaluation of the ongoing legal process, including reasonable worst-case scenarios. The conclusion is that, regardless of the outcome, the process is not expected to have any material adverse impact on the club’s financial position or liquidity over the next twelve months.

Soft signal, or simply the Board’s view that a final ruling — including appeals — is unlikely to be reached during the upcoming fiscal year?

Not quite as simple as that though. Especially in a civil court where it’s not beyond reasonable doubt it is balance of probabilities
Here is what I say you’ve done here is why I believe that
You choose to say nothing it’s probably likely you’ve done it

Could mean either couldn’t it
Most likely means we think it will be unproven in my opinion but who knows
