Enzo Maresca "high among candidates" to replace Guardiola if he leaves next summer

Guardiola on his future: "The last three or four years every time someone asks me that question. Sooner of later, when I'm 75 or 76, I will quit City. I understand the question but I have 18 months left and I am so delighted. That question happens every single season and I'm ok."

What tier is he, is he reliable?

I’d go for Simone Inzaghi. Track record of getting the most out of players. Got Inter to the ECL final, fortunately was runner up
Yeah agreed tbf. Feels like we have built a squad for him even more so than Pep in the last few windows. Italians also usually knows how to win this league

I encourage people to watch the press conference, and not just what he says but how he says it.

And then we can probably close this thread lol.

That Pep is leaving this summer.
I don’t believe it at all. I do believe Ornstein has good sources though and if Maresca is on the list as replacement then I believe that to be the case.

I never said otherwise.

What I said was people rubbishing it because City are doing well or making out Ornstein knows fuck all is wrong

Ffs, sky's takeaway from that is 'Pep refuses to clarify when his time at City will come to an end'.

Get them signed up to this forum, they'd fit right in!

He claimed two things. That Pep is planning on leaving this summer, and that Maresca is one of the candidates to replace him.

At least half of that is rubbish, and by extension the other half, at least with the timing stated.

Really doesn't matter WHY people are calling it rubbish, rubbish it still is.

The fact that Ornstein 'broke' the Haaland extension news doesn't change that.

No he didn’t say he’s planning on leaving.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is high among the candidates Manchester City are considering in case Pep Guardiola exits the Etihad Stadium next summer.

“In case”

So Ornsteins scoop is that Maresca is on the shortlist if Pep decided to leave, hardly groundbreaking stuff as a manager who has worked here before and is at a top club is on the shortlist. The way some on here have acted as if Ornsteins confirmed Pep is off and we’ve tapped up Ten Hag.

BBC news: Pep says city must prepare for his successor

What pep actually said: I'm staying, maybe until my 70s!

I don't like trump. I don't like him threatening our broadcasting institution with extinction. But every day that institution reminds me more and more of how unfortunate for purpose it is.
Pep says he won't be at City forever and the media and opposition get giddy.

Every single take on this mentions the possibility of new signings knowing pep may leave in 2026, literally the same as last time his contract was up for renewal, its pathetic, journos are literally stealing a living

Peps deal ends in 2027 so does Arteta’s, pieces of info coming out saying if Arsenal were to do a new contract it would be costly.

I don’t want him , but if the club have looked at him , it lines up perfectly

Journalism stopped being trustworthy the second clicks, engagement and making as much money as possible became the main focus.
Modern society doesn't want facts, they want stuff to get angry about.
It's fucked up.
