Enzo Maresca "high among candidates" to replace Guardiola if he leaves next summer

The sports hacks are mostly cowboys who lift stories from each other. They often use a quote from an unnamed source when that source is just a fellow hack. The usual protocol is to compare notes with each other so they all run the same angle and no one is exposed. That is how the press pack operates. Basically just corruption. The football hacks are not proper journalists. They don’t really have the skillset to investigate stories. They are fed virtually their whole output from agents or press officers. This site is much more accurate when it comes to City news.
Spot on the days of sports journalists writing proper thought out pieces or investigative journalism is long gone ( Martin Samuel being the last of them) nowadays they are basically social media influencers looking clicks with sensationalist headlines and quotes which come from sources within or close to,biggest load of claptrap..

I’ve actually heard something but not sure if to post it and it’s 100% ..a certain manager is going end of season and will be joining the rags he served as number 2 to pep and currently managing a team in London who are top of the league..

There is only a very select number of people who will know if Pep is wrapping up at the end of the season and they will not be talking to the press. For me it seems unlikely given the 2 year extension culminated, according to reports, in the break up of his marriage
If the rumours of our transfer targets are factual it is more likely one of Semenyo’s or Guehi’s other suitors are trying to cause some uncertainty. Neither are going to club without champions league football so it all points to the dippers using their client media shrills which fits with their modus operandi

It really is fake news. Most of the football pack run stories from unreliable sources without asking the first question which is: “Why is he telling me this.” There are exceptions like Samuel of course but they are a dying breed. People on this forum are better informed because it is a proven crowdsourcing tool with many thousands of members. All the snippets of info combined get us to the truth.

Wins football match.

The Athletic: Pep's off.
As you will be aware The Athletic is a subscription service. However, they do not publish figures for how many subscribers they have in the UK. Probably on a fishing trip to recruit new subscribers by showing how ' well informed' they are.

Guardiola on his future: "The last three or four years every time someone asks me that question. Sooner of later, when I'm 75 or 76, I will quit City. I understand the question but I have 18 months left and I am so delighted. That question happens every single season and I'm ok."

More: "There are no discussions - end of the subject. I will not be eternal here, none of us will, but there are no discussions. What is going to happen will happen and the club has to be prepared for everything. The club has to be prepared but that subject is not on the table."

Funny cos reading that it sounds like he’s going nowhere.
However having not seen the press conference I’ve just turned on ssn and been greeted with the yellow ticker “Pep says he will not be here forever”
Cunts!
I knew it was bullshit cos we’ve also had about 10 days of 115 shit.
It’s almost like we’re a threat again.

Ah I think I see it.. Arsenal looking nervy as the blues seem to be getting it together. Roll out the annual Pep’s leaving story. Throw Chelsea’s manager in there too for a little extra flavour
My take entirely. Just as we have a sniff of going top (always jinxed within an hour of it being mentioned, just ask the Rags!) out come the perennial tales of Pep leaving and the Empire terminating! Sooooooo bloody predictable.
