Seat Counters 25/26

Not been on league cup scheme for a few years now.
My kids are so I left them to go to Brentford the other night.
Did I miss it . Not one bit. I was happy to be sat at home in the warmth enjoying the game.

There are no free buses to the Etihad unless you have a concessionary bus pass.

There are match-day buses from the suburbs to the ground but they are expensive. For example, I can get a return from New Mills to the Etihad for £8. I think the train fare would be £9.80, or around that amount so it's not a game changer.

I don't think local transport is relevant to attendances but long distance transport is definitely a problem. Man Utd survive but they have a much larger match going crowd than we do. They were successful for 50 years.
"They were successful for 50 years" good try you sad red bastard

And Tower of Treats, etc.

On a serious note.

I see lots of Hong Kongers wearing City tops where I work.

I think City have pushed hard to get the Hong Kongers that have moved to Manchester after the Chinese State took over Hong Kong.

I stand corrected on this, but outside of London, Manchester has seen the most Hong Kongers moving to a UK (regional) city.

United always had the older Hong Kongers support pre and post Fergie, but after City’s dominance of English football for over a decade, many young Hong Kongers have become City fans.

Manchester’s large Chinese community, the 2nd largest China Town in the UK, and the 2 Manchester football clubs, City’s 1st team, and City’s youth team ;-), have been a major reason for the large amount of Hong Kongers moving to Gtr Manchester.

Asked Google AI.

After China's crackdown, many Hongkongers moved to affordable UK areas with good schools, forming new communities in cities like Manchester, Birmingham (especially Solihull), Glasgow, and Liverpool, alongside suburban London areas like Sutton, while also settling in towns like Warrington, Crewe, and Stoke, seeking better freedoms, education, and a new start.

Stoke? :-/
Manchester, narrow it down to Altrincham ;-)

On the subject of Hong Kong, only been once (amazing place) to visit a blue mate of mine living there in 1988.

After a night on the piss we got back to his flat to tune in to the BBC to get the latest scores, only for them to announce 'and we'd like to welcome listeners to the BBC World Service to Maine Road for Manchester City v Watford'.

As we were in the 2nd Division at the time we couldn't believe it and went mental until we heard we were a goal down. But incredibly we ended up winning 3-1!

On another amazing side note, the next day walking down the street I bumped in to an old mate of mine from school who was teaching English over there...couldn't fckin believe it and we ended up on the piss. It's a small world alright though I've never bumped into any old mates in Cleck.

Liverpool have treated their fans with contempt for years. The cheap price for locals is a PR stunt which affects a tiny minority. And a lot of those tickets end up with touts. Anfield must have the lowest percentage of local fans anywhere in Europe. Much worse than Old Trafford or any of the London grounds. There are a tiny number of scousers at Anfield on matchdays. This is a stark contrast to Everton.
I suppose the senior management at our club are striving for us to go the same way unfortunately.

Is it because few fans know the facts that posters like @Sheik Battle and Goal hold Liverpool up as a role model.

Their own fans are disgusted with the % of fans with ST.

I was in Hong Hong 88, spent one night in a famous bar called joe Bananas, a typhoon came in, and it remained open all night for safety reasons, allowed out at around 8.30am, wind was still very strong and had to try to walk home pissed and lost.

I was supporting City in the 80's and 90's when we won nothing significant. In that time Utd's crowds went from 50,000 to 70,000 because they were successful. It's easy to support a football club when they are successful. This sad red bastard will be in block 105 today. You are an idiot.

Yes there were some great bars and clubs from memory. A lot of which sold Carlsberg Special Brew in cans for some reason which didn't help!

It was horrendous going back to the car. Freezing rain and wind not a great combo. Getting a parking ticket (we've had this spot for 10 years) just capped it off nicely.
