Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

16 goals from open play and 15 from set pieces and penalties.

It's all part of the game, but if that ratio continues and they win the league doing it that way then fair play, but I will be astonished if it that is sustainable.

Arsenal won't lose many games, in fact I don't think they will will lose again in the league for the rest of the season because their toughest away game is City and they will park a German WW2 Panza tank in that game. What will cost them though in my opinion, is i can't help but feel draws will kill them in the end if they carry on as they are.

It was draws that killed it for Liverpool whenever they came up against us.

If Arsenal win the league they will be the most boring negative team to do so for decades and will set English football back years. They are dire. A sort of upmarket version of Stoke City. More tedious even than George Graham’s team. But don’t expect the media to tell the truth about them.

Your 1st XI ceiling is for sure higher. It's if something happens to Haaland, Foden etc where there may be a bigger drop off than we would have if we lost Odegaard or Saka again. That being said if Rice gets injured we can kiss goodbye to the league - we don't have cover for him that's anywhere near his level.

Nunes & Oreilly were not our first choice fullbacks but took their chances after injuries to Khusanov & Ait-Nouri. Gonzalez is only playing because the world’s best midfielder is injured. Yesterday we started the game with no recognised wingers so we adapted, just as we would with no Haaland or Foden. Last season we won crucial games with Mcatee as a false 9 when Haaland was out.
As I said we had 7 players out yday & not a fucking murmur about injuries.

it never really clicked to me how deluded arsenal fans were until i sat down and tried to talk with a few of them today. they all swore to my face looking at the screen that it wasn't a pen, and that they have similar decisions not go their way every week. genuinely no point arguing if we can't even agree on a shared reality. even liverpool fans weren't this deluded.

Just woke up and saw the scores. Arsenal scrape a 1-0 win against Everton with a penalty, and the scousers scrape a 2-1 win against a team that was given two red cards and played most of the game with 10 men.

Have you really got the best squad? I just don’t see it.
You can’t blame him for believing it, the media have been saying they are the best team all season.

In reality they are scraping by and fucking boring to watch. It’s not 100% proof but league winner usually has the best GD, I think that will be true this season. Can’t wait to get them at ours.

This is a fallacy though. Why would Arsenal not get better? They have Gabriel to come back in and Havertz also. Plus players recently back from injury getting back up to speed (eg Odegaard, Gyokeres etc). And we have played far better already this season including giving Bayern and Atletico a bumming. We aren't playing great currently but that will pick up. Form ebbs and flows. That being said I am still 'worried' but I was also worried when we were 7 clear as I didn't think we looked unbeatable.
Well your boys always bottle it in spring so you’ve got that to look forward to as well.

Not this season. Have to win the league as we have the best overall squad. CL would be nice but it's also a bit of a lottery whereas the best team always wins the league.

If we don't win it serious questions need to be asked.
You don't have the best overall squad. You have the best centre half pairing and that's it.
You won't win the league as you do not score enough goals and can't break teams down. You rely on set pieces and that will only get you so far.

They are awful to watch.

I look at their starting 11s & then I’m expected to believe they’ll win it cos they’ve got players that can’t break into that.

Remember when the Dippers had the best keeper, defence & attack……
And midfield.

And the best manager.

And yet, they still couldn’t beat shitty City and that crappy coach, Pep.
