West Ham United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

It’s not worth worrying about at this stage. All I wanted was for us to still have a chance and we have ! I think we have a change at winning any of the four we are in. No one stands out as being that much better than us, even in Europe. We could win nothing though but Whatever happens in terms of who wins what this season, we have been much better, the team spirit is back and we are much more entertaining.

That’s what I wanted this season so anything else is a bonus. The games are enjoyable again.
Worry doesn’t come into it. The only time we actually need to be top is after the last game of the season. Would have been nice though if Arse had not got another spawny winning goal.

West Ham weren’t even that bad but they were wide open and played high line that we didn’t really capitalise on with any balls over the top which were on all game.

Thought it was a strange day today. It felt very easy, like we never got out of second gear (and didn’t need to).

Arsenal will be more worried about us than we are them.
We haven't been anywhere near as good as we have been in seasons before.
But we are 2nd.
That know even if they play at the absolute max they can they are only just above us.
We can step up from here.
They can't they are at the maximum now.
And they always go to bits.
A not brilliant city team will win the league.
Because we have pep.
And because arsenal will bottle it

Cherki seems to be rubbing off on the other players. I thought Pep told Cherki to stop doing the flicks but now I am seeing Foden doing it too.

Have a lot of time for the hammers , fan base are sound , have a lot of west ham friends and you can have a decent footy chat

They have awful owners and looks like they will be going down .

Personal opinion but the PL will be worse off without the hammers

Had some great days at upton park too..

Cheers for the 3 points todsay lads...
Can you imagine the state of the London stadium v Stoke in the championship on a cold wet December Tuesday night

Thought we would score a few today, really should have had a few more.

only part I'm frustrated on is the team coming out in the 2nd half and again for nearly 15/20 mins letting West Ham get back into it.

Anywho. was great being top of the league for a few hours

West Ham look like relegation fodder to me, but pleased with our performance nonetheless. Thought we controlled the game for long periods. And when called upon Donnarumma was excellent.

Impossible to tell of course, because different eras cannot be objectively or fairly compared, but wonder if he’s the best keeper to ever play for the club.

They’ve got some decent attackers so might score enough goals to stay up, but any sort of injuries to Bowen, Paqueta and Summerville and they are bereft of any sort of talent and they’re going down easily.

And Wolves effectively reduce the number of relegation places to two I’d say. Think Burnley are a shoo in. Leeds and Forest are looking too strong to go down though. Bournemouth could get sucked in.

They’ve definitely got a fighting chance but are exposed as you suggest.

In the last ten seasons there have been 57 points to play for between City and West Ham. The Hammers have won just 2 points.

very comfortable apart from the start of the second half again

they would be nothing without bowen, good player

hope they get out of trouble, have a bit of a soft spot for west ham

West Ham look doomed. Bowen is their talisman but it's too much for one player to carry. IMO City got a little complacent in this game. If we weren't tired, we could have pushed hard and won 6-0 but Pep was nursing City resting players when he could. That was the right thing to do. Once the game is won, you don't push hard in this period, you manage the game out.

There is still defensive weakness in City particularly behind Cherki who is slow when losing the ball. That will be fixed in part by Rodri. Rodri's recovery is now key to everything in 2026. Await the Return of the King.

Lucas Paqueta would fit City like a glove.
A very skilful player but we have Cherki. Cherki has changed City. You are now doomed if you come to City and park the bus. He is as inventive as KDB but in a completely different way. A better comparison is to Ali Bernarbia or Gio KInkladze. A little wizard with a black beard.
