I wouldn’t be opposed to it if Semenyo doesn’t happen. Rather get in an experienced player than a project player.

Personally I think it’s Semenyo it just feels like a deal we’d do.

I thought we missed the pace pf Doku on the left yesterday & I'd prefer Semenyo. Rodrygo feels like Navas mark 2 when it comes to scoring.& you only have yo look at how Savinho was playing in Spain to how hes struggling now

Just saw a chart on the Nico OReilly thread showing speed of players. It showed our top 5 and I was surprised Doku wasn't in it.
His standing starts are a great weapon

He isn't. Priority should be a replacement for Kova imo, if possible an HG option.

City have scouted players personality in the past, so I cant see that being a stumbling block. Pep usually has a small squad because there is very little drop off in quality & he can rely on them. The drop off in quality one of the reasons why Pep is playing the same 11 regularly this season

I also admitted that it was a poor take and Phil at the time last season I felt had gone stale due to being so successful at a young age and may have needed to challenge himself? Besides the Newcastle game at home last season, Savinho has shown literally nothing to warrant any hype?! It’s a CFG thing imo and Soriano is steadfast in keeping him at the club.

I didn’t mean Semenyo’s personality, just the inevitable disruption that signing an established player entails. Guardiola’s hand has also been tied by injuries, too. Marmoush, Ait-Nouri, Bobb, Stones, Rodri, and maybe even Kovacic will be available from February onwards, so Guardiola can rely on consistency now, knowing that there are strong reinforcements over the horizon.

Semenyo is a fine player, but Viana has shown that he’s adept at finding quality outside of England.

I certainly think the centre of midfield needs bolstering, but more with an eye to next season. I’d prefer any potential signing to be a genuinely outstanding prospect and, if possible, meet the HG quota with academy talent instead.
