I’m negative as anyone and always worst case scenario when it comes to thinking the rags will be back…

But my god, if that’s an upward trend long May it continue. They’re absolutely fucking shit and will be lucky to finish top half!
Indeed they are, but they've reached a few cup finals during this absolutely fucking shit phase and even won one of them. They even won at bloody Anfield.
More worrying is that Amorim has mentioned the sense of entitlement at the swamp, and it's that entitled attitude that has kept them from implementing a long-term policy to improve. Fortunately their fans, both in the ground and especially in the media, will never accept long-term planning and will continue to demand instant improvement which won't be bought while Scruffy Jim and the Glazers hold the purse strings.
Meanwhile their trophy per season figure since the GPC is still higher than it was before him so you can annoy rags by reminding them how well they are doing.

They are on an upward trend imo. Don't think they win a title under Amorim but they can finish top 4-6 this season and go deep in the cups again from next season. Think once Amorim has another summer under his belt they could be regular top 4-6 finishers once more, which isn't exactly what they want but it's on the way to their ideal destination.

Since those comments Ratcliffe made about giving Amorim three years no matter how much people might want him sacked, in all competitions they've P11 W5 D4 L2. In that time they've gone away to Liverpool (W), Spurs (D), Palace (W), and Villa (L). Things could be improved but Amorim has definitely stopped the rot and steadied the ship for the time being.

De Ligt Maguire Shaw
Diallo [new CM] Fernandes Dalot
Cunha Mbeumo Mount

There is something in that system. Casemiro and Ugarte are nowhere near mobile enough to do the job Amorim wants, which is why they're still a work in progress, and Mount can't really be trusted to stay fit for more than 2-3 months at a time. But they are building a decent squad with decent options from the bench. No threat to us yet, but it's improving.
You're getting pelters obviously, but for what its worth I agree with you to a point.

In fairness to Amorin he's stuck to his guns, MBuemo and Cunha were signings which improved them, and Ratboy2, despite his whinging, is not a bad player. They're improving, they're starting to understand the system Amorin wants, however where we disagree is how close they are to being a team capable of sustained challenge for top 4. I reckon 3-4 years at best.

The defence is still poor, midfield is nowhere near where they need to be, both issues which wont be fixed in 1 or 2 windows, and they still don't have a keeper worthy of the name

They've also lost to Everton at home with 10 men and conceded 4 to a bournemouth team in free fall. They've been beaten off 4th tier Grimsby Town this season and have 4 more points than last year at the same stage.

However, i suspect you're being a fruity provocateur or hitting them with a jinx!

He’s certainly acting like a prize plum

But it’s not every week.
Nobody said it was but initially you said 'Teams do not have three games a week'. I have just given you examples where we play three games in a week twice. Arsenal play Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday at the end of January so there are teams who play three games in a week. Granted it's not every week but the fact is teams do play three games in a seven day period.

Are you trying to say they’ve turned a corner?

They've just had a decent run of fixtures and came across Liverpool at the time they were in that dramatic dip in form they had. I'm not convinced they've even improved on last season. The league is unusually tight. Yes they're 3 points off top 4 but they're also 6 points off 15th.

Thinks Anorim is good but that Pep needs to go.

You have dome funny opinions, mate.
I think if you take in the full range of opinions I've expressed about Pep over the last 6-12 months, you'll get a clearer picture. I'm not fully #PepOut, but I have questioned - after some bad results this season which have reflected a lot of problems from last season - whether he's the man to get us back to the top. But I've also said, on many occasions, that I'm happy for Pep to continue as our manager because he's earned that right. I've also said numerous times that I think he'll win us the league again at the end of the 26/27 season before bowing out and that I'd be gutted if he left now or at the end of the 25/26 season. I'm doubtful over whether keeping him beyond his current contract would be the best thing for City long-term, but I wouldn't say I'm 100% of the opinion that "Pep needs to go". In a weak moment after the Leverkusen game, or after the Brighton and Spurs games this season, I might have made some off-hand comment wondering whether Pep is currently in his late 2000s Wenger phase, but I'm still broadly on board with him staying and would be sad if this season did end up being his last.

At the same time, Amorim has been at United for about 12 months now and I think it's fair enough to point out that they are currently in a better position than they were when Ten Hag left. They were 14th in the league when Amorim was appointed and they're currently 7th. I don't know if Amorim is "good". I've said in the post you've quoted that I don't think he'll be the man to win them a Premier League title because they're currently too far behind City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea (and arguably Villa). But I think it's beginning to show that the more influence Amorim has on the squad, the better football they seem to be playing. They're currently 3rd in the xG table, which tends to show itself in the real table as the season carries on, and I wouldn't be surprised if they finished between 4th-6th with the way this season is shaping up. That's not to say they're "back" or that they've "turned a corner", they're simply showing improvement on the last days of Ten Hag and the early days of Amorim. That doesn't mean I think he's a better manager than Pep - I'm just wondering if United are at the beginning of a good cycle with a new manager while City might (might!) be reaching the end of a good cycle with the guy who's been in charge for 9-10 years.

Probably worth noting that they have zero european football and teams without it, especially with squads which cost a billion, usually have a free run at the top end of the table.

Considering they don't have those extra games, they're very much still underperforming. If they had European football then you have to image they'd have less points and that would put them in the bottom half of the table.

I think there’s no doubt that they are on an upwards direction. Part of the reason for that is the fact they are harder to beat (although there is always the referee factor to take into account). The question is how fast are they moving upwards? They probably can challenge for top 5 but they are quite some way off the top 2 or 3.

2 wins in 8. If that is an upward trend then they are in big trouble

They are harping on about Maguire not being fit, they’ve been trying to flog him for 3 years. As for De Ligt, he’s the Dutch Maguire as far as I’m concerned

Sesko doesn’t look up to it and Cunha and Mbeomo, whilst are decent premier league players that’s about it

Something remarkable would need to happen for them to finish in the CL spots

utd are wank.

Were this season's league not so topsy turvy they'd be much lower.

At this stage last season 26 points was 8th place. They're on course for finishing 10th, whoopee-fucking-do.
It’s Top Ten if you don’t mind :-)
Anyway they lost again, Ratty is off to the Laboratory for a few weeks R&R.Life is Good.
Just a bit surprised the BBC don’t get the rights to show the Rags live on Christmas Day on the prime 8pm slot with Noel Edmonds,Tess Daly and Claudia Winkelman in the studio.
