7 | Omar Marmoush - 2025/26

Possibly in the summer. If Semenyo comes in, Bobb will be the first to go imo
I don't think we should move on from Bobb. He had a horrible injury last year, which can sometimes take 2 years to get all the way back from, and he isn't getting games or confidence, I think a loan for Bobb just to get him some minutes and confidence back is the best way or we find a way to get him some games.

That goal v Zimbabwe won't happen in the PL I'm afraid.

I like Marmoush, he's obviously a really good player but Pep just doesn't seem to rate him for whatever reason.

Personally, I think he's a good player but he's in the wrong team. He just doesn't look quite right playing wide for us and I don't think he's quite what we need if he plays on his own up front.

I suspect he could be moved out if Semenyo is available. Shame as I do rate him, and he will do well in another team.

Pep does rate him but he just hasn't figured out the spot for him in his system.. (a bit like Nunes earlier / Reinders/ Mukasa, etc at present)

@Lavinda Past comments are honestly ridiculous like those endless comments where Haaland doesn't fit the team.. (remember those comments from tons of posters??),

Real Madrid away was a big game and who got on when we were under the cosh..

That's right.. MARMOUSH!

You don't play who you don't trust at the Bernabeau if he's not a trusted piece or doesn't fit our team.. especially after we lost at home vs Leverkusen!

That speaks more about who Pep trusts and has in his plans vs who he does not more than anything else this season..

That's a lot of words saying nothing. Marmoush isn't a top striker and he isn't a top winger. He's a willing runner, just like Gabriel Jesus.

Think most people on here rate him - the problem, as is always the case with our "back-up" strikers, is he ain't gonna be happy with the above.
If he's anything about him he's wanting to start those games - that won't happen while Haaland is fit I'm afraid

Good player who had an unfortunate injury but who will be there to see us through to May, especially when, not if, Haaland is out injured.

We can’t play the same players indefinitely, which Guardiola has repeatedly acknowledged, yet some still labour under the illusion that we somehow can. That woolly thinking saw us run out of steam in 23-24 and surrender the Champions League and lose the FA Cup to that lot. It’ll have to be all hands to the pump this year.

He'd be so good in a 4-2-2-2.

Imagine Nico-Rodri behind Foden-Cherki behind Haaland-Marmoush.

The problem is that Pep seems to have decided his only role is Haaland backup.

We're not going to create a brand new system, with both our attacking midfielders forced out wide, or killing our width (depending on their positions), just to accommodate Omar Marmoush.

It's literally Foden and Cherki's favourite positions, playing inside left and right respecitively the same way Silva and Nasri did in 13/14.

If it makes you feel better call it a 433 with Marmoush playing the off the striker role.

It's not really a new system though. We've played quite narrow in plenty of games this season. The tactics at Palace resulted in us being quite narrow for long periods. If you look at Reijnders' role at Palace that's something Marmoush could do more effectively in my opinion because he'd have a more natural instinct to attack the space and would make more impact playing off Haaland.

It was always going to tough to fit Cherki, Reijnders, Marmoush, Foden, Bobb, Savinho, Doku and Bernardo into the same team haha
