EFL Cup Games | Quarterfinals | 16/17/23 December '25

Thursday night cup.

Palace kicked off about playing too many games and were given some breathing space.

You know like we we're a few years ago when we'd got a cup game in between playing Real Madrid on a semi final.

Oh wait....We we're told to get fucked.
Even with the Thursday night cup they are still playing the same amount of games as the rest of us, that's bullshit

Today:
20:00 - Arsenal v Crystal Palace - ITV1 & Sky Sports

Don't see Arsenal not progressing. I think at this point we might want them to go through as well, we want them to play 2 extra games against Chelsea in the semis in January and hopefully get knocked out in that round. Obviously wouldn't be gutted if they went out either.

Agreed. If it was at Selhurst Park, you could possibly give them a puncher's chance. But not at the Emirates; it'll be like AJ vs Jake Paul all over again.....

Wouldn't be surprised if Palace put out a B team.

They are struggling with fixture congestion and just don't have the squad to play 2 extra games in January as well as all the PL/ FA cup ties and play 2 more must win conference league games.

They will sacrifice the league cup tonight.

Likewise I'm not fussed if we go out. 2 extra games wedged in Jan and Feb? No thank you unless Arteta goes proper reserve team but he won't, he'll view it as a proper trophy and it isn't

Arsenal rotated several of their key men, however Palace have key players unavailable and look completely shattered, can't see how Palace win, expect a very comfortable arsenal win. Could have been a different story a few weeks ago but the timing of the fixture favours Arsenal. I actually think I'd prefer arsenal to win if we're thinking long term, give them the two extra games against chelsea.

After their cup success last year you’d hope Palace go into this game with some belief. But as others have said, if they don’t win at least it’s two extra games against local rivals for arsenal.
