7 | Omar Marmoush - 2025/26

Haaland can't and shouldn't be playing 60 games a season or we'll end up with another rodri situation. Marmoush is capable of deputising even if we have to tweak the system a bit. All the talk of him not fitting in the starting 11 is crazy. We shouldn't have a fixed 11 and we haven't until the last couple of seasons.
The best players for the biggest clubs do end up playing about 50/60 games though. If he’s fit, he’s not getting dropped.

You’d have to ask is Marmoush alright with being on the bench or only playing when haaland needs a rest?

We don’t have a fixed 11, but there are Individuals who if fit will always start.

I like Marmoush, I'm frustrated he hasn't been used more but Pep has his best XI and its pretty settled, and unfortunately Marmoush isnt in that XI

I'd rather we sold Bobb with a buy-back clause (he has talent just needs Morgan Rogers level development) than Marmoush, hes still the best replacement for Haalan when he inevitably get injured

Even if Bobb goes it doesn't give Marmoush more games, just don't think there's a place for him.

These So calls links to spurs they ask the Egyptian manager, sorry what’s sort of question is that? He is a city player and he will only leave if spurs pay us mega money none of this fake so Call bids of we could bid €70m for Savino when thee only bid was €43m for him and with how spurs has treated us id tell them to fuck off!

Egypt manager, Hossam Hassan on whether Omar Marmoush is distracted by the possibility of leaving #ManCity amid links to Tottenham: “Marmoush would be an asset for any club in Europe. I hope he stays in the Premier League.

“He’s not distracted by anything. His focus is with us, and the proof is what he showed in the first match [vs Zimbabwe]. He’ll continue to remain fully committed to the national team…” [via @ismaeelmahmoudd]

I'd rather Marmoush play the Reijnders role.

Yes he has a bad first touch but he doesn't ghost through games. Marmoush is arguably our best presser and a very effective 2nd striker.

I’ve not been impressed by Marmoush at all but It is strange that Reijnders Is given a level of freedom that Marmoush has never been afforded. It’s like it’s been decided that Marmoush isn’t good enough to replace Haaland and he isn’t good enough on the wing, so he is out in the cold.

That’s exactly what’s been decided. Pep said it himself that he sees him only as a striker. Which ultimately means his City career is over and he’ll leave in the summer. The idea when signing Haaland cover is that they have to be able to play elsewhere too, otherwise they’ll never play. I think the club thought they’d achieved that with Marmoush but it seems Pep is making it clear to those above him that they made a mistake. It’s possible that Marmoush’s replacement joins us this week - I absolutely would not be surprised if Semenyo sometimes plays as a striker for us when Haaland is rested or injured. He did used to be one. But is also far better on the wing than Marmoush, so fits better.

Pep also thinks playing Bernie on the right wing is a good option, so who knows.

I think if we continue pairing Haalabd with a second striker like we have with Reijnders then Marmoush for sure deserves that chance.

But also, Semenyo...
