I think Arsenal are looking to let Ben White leave, so potentially Guehi could be seen as the ideal replacement. He gets to stay in London and Arsenal get a player who can ensure they finish in their annual 2nd position again.

There are many many examples of the club not doing so for a lot less, a fraction, of 50m. Not that it would make any difference anyway.
