I wouldn't know but Bournemouth have done really well. I think they might find the 2nd half of the season very difficult though now. If West Ham do put a run together, I think they are vulnerable without Semenyo. He is their main attacking threat. Is Iraola highly thought of at City? Maybe signing Semenyo is laying some groundwork.
Quicker.Khusa is bigger, stronger and quicker, or as quick as Nunes.
I do worry that this transfer is the end of Marmoush. Stylistically I think Semenyo is better suited to replacing Haaland up front than Marmoush and he’s played striker for Bournemouth, where he was much more keen to get physical with CBs and obviously he’s much faster than Marmoush so makes similar runs to Haaland rather than the in-> out runs Marmoush prefers that take him wide.
Assuming this happens and Semenyo gets regular game time, it will be interesting if Haaland picks up a small injury or gets rested in a few months time who actually replaces him.
Unfortunately Marmoush isn't at the level we need to win Premier Leagues and European Cups. Great player. Just not what we need.
Barca 120m for Griezmann, 86m for De Jong and that was 5 years ago. Atletico 75m for Julian Alvarez.
Barca, Real and Atletico all compete in a league where they are all but guaranteed to qualify for Europe every season. Likewise Bayern, Dortmund and PSG. They also have the pick of academy prospects from their relative countries and with Real and Barca are an ideal destination for Spanish speaking players from south and central America.
In the premier league, the weather is shit and any one of 8 teams are after 4 places, City, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Villa, Newcastle, Spurs so it naturally becomes an arms race. Thats before we start talking about the relative strength of some other clubs like Palace, Bournemouth and Brighton. I would almost be certain that a mid table PL team would finish in the top 4 over a season in La Liga, Bundesliga or Ligue 1.
I’ve not seen enough in Marmoush to be worried about this if I’m honest. With regards to your other point we bought him because we had no backup or second striker and were very exposed to a Haaland injury.I do worry that this transfer is the end of Marmoush.

I'm an older fan than you haha!!!. Anyway did we ever think back then that we would have the pleasure of watching the likes of KDB and David Silva. And today Haaland and my new favourite player...one Mr. Cherki!!!!. It's been one helluva ride.Who said I was miserable about it?
I became a City fan when Keegan was rge manager back in tier 2, whatever if was callback then.
Winning 5-3 with practically no defense, five strikers and SWP playing wing back was standard fare for most of my early days.
Happy Christmas palHappy holidays, even to damien10
I think they have enough to stay up, especially when they can get their injuries back. PersonallyI hope they stay up because I love the story of Bournemouth still being in the Premier leagueI wouldn't know but Bournemouth have done really well. I think they might find the 2nd half of the season very difficult though now. If West Ham do put a run together, I think they are vulnerable without Semenyo. He is their main attacking threat.
Merry Xmas to you. I am happy for you to post any info that you may receive and take it with the knowledge that it is passed on in good faith.Merry Christmas to you all, including the haters.
Slight risk. Someone usually starts to struggle in the New Year and it could be them. West Ham have crowds of 63k and I think they will buy in January. They won't go down without a fight at least I don't think they will.I think they have enough to stay up, especially when they can get their injuries back. PersonallyI hope they stay up because I love the story of Bournemouth still being in the Premier league
Semenyo's versatility makes him an attractive option to Pep and tbh I wasn't aware that he had played as a striker for Bournemouth. His pace, power, strength and clinical finishing are all attributes you want want in a forward player. As for Marmoush, I have similar concerns, but I hope he stays.I do worry that this transfer is the end of Marmoush.

You won't need to hope.Yea reasonable point. But not many players available in January and liverpool are a bit desperate with them struggling and Isak out. Not sure united or Chelsea's transfer strategy is something a team like ours (who are levels above them) should be emulating. Spurs are spurs and consistently sign second rate players like richarlison and Brennan Johnsons. I think a big part of the attraction is the tight struggle for top 4 and his availability mid season.
I feel like the whole thing is a bit of a blag tbh. And we arent as desperate as the others. Yes doku is out but only temporarily, but cherki is kicking right into gear. 65 million quid isnt peanuts. My gut feeling says this will be a signing that makes little impact and pep will hardly play him.
Time will tell mate. Obviously I hope I'm wrong (if we signed him) and proven right (if we dont)
Nunes has become levels above Khusonov at the RB position. There's really no discussion to be had. Khus is a CB and a very promising one at that.Nunes is a hell of an athlete wouldn't leave him out of any side with the aim of making it as physical as possible. He's seriously quick.
I'd prefer Semenyo and Marmoush as options over Savinho and Bobb without question...Unfortunately Marmoush isn't at the level we need to win Premier Leagues and European Cups. Great player. Just not what we need.
Semenyo isn't an ambitous signing to be honest. Both Savinho and Marmoush are good enough without going in the transfer market at this stage. Vini Jnr seems more box office but the issues are with his attitude and seems more trouble than what he is worth. This seems unlikely at this stage of the season but the likes of Guehi are more prudent with Ake showing major signs of decline.Wow, is that a bit of joy and positivity in your post! Merry fucking Christmas!
I do like your general "don't need" or "wait until the summer" or "x player is good enough for now" posts, as if you are running a nice small family business and dont need the hassle of showing a bit more ambition - and I mean that sincerely.
But I like this more reckless Ray too!
