4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

Is his odd goal a game worth the lack of defensive contribution? Their goal came from his offensive errors and he was poor before and after his goal.
His goal was well taken though
Did he lose the ball leading to the goal? Yes, but come on. He damn near lost it in Forest's box or right outside of it.

We have to defend better, or our attacking players are going to become so scared of losing the ball and the ensuing counter that they play within themselves.

We do, the midfield players and in particular Gonzalez don’t get back quick enough when they had the chance to.

Last 2 games he took his goals well. It's a positive. Some it takes longer to get to grips with how we play what is needed to be a top player in English football. Look at Nico last season dropped bit part to this season were he is first name on the team sheet in midfield. Some players it comes easy and they fit in and do a job. I think we will see the best of him soon.

Decent as a #10, has that Gundogan ability to find space and composure in the final 3rd

Unfortunately he doesnt share the rest of Gundogans other strengths, he just doesn't affect the game enough, doesn't give any protection or control like Gundogan used to

Still got a place in our team

Said a few games ago it wouldnt take much for him to go from a complete passenger to very good, he has good attributes we dont use often, namely his running, his goal today was a fine example of us actually using it to great effect.

If we start using that aspect often, he'll be worth his place on that alone. He's still not offering enough in other aspects but there has been a small but noticeable upturn in his overall game too in the last few games. Not unhappy with him at the minute, 3 goals in 5 games being a large reason but if he keeps going with the steady inprovemeny we and he might be in business.

That's incredibly harsh to say the goal comes from his offensive error, he lost his footing attempting to turn back in on the edge of their box, suggesting that is an error is a big stretch.

I can't understand what his position is. As an 8, he has no influence on games and lacks consistency, and as a 10, he lacks technical ability and vision.

You're going to think I'm crazy, but I find Rico Lewis much stronger and more useful than him.

I see him and Foden as essentially having the same function. Once Doku is fit one of the 2 will probably be dropped to the bench but be a super sub.

How i miss last season, watching teams run through us and Rico hopelessly chasing them,15 yards behind the play every time.

It's one thing thinking Reijnders hasn't contributed enough to the overall play, most would agree up to this point.

Lewis is not any more useful though.

I think the fact Lewis is playing less this season is a factor in our improvements. Nothing against the lad, but a team looking to win titles shouldn't have Rico Lewis starting regularly.

Not sure he made enough of an effort to get back and defend. He jogged rather than a lung busting effort

I completely agree, I would never let Rico Lewis start regularly. I'm only mentioning him to show how little regard I have for Reijnders. If all our players are fit, I would put him in seventh position in midfield behind Rodri, Nico, Kovacic, Bernardo, Foden and Cherki; I would even put him eighth behind Rico.

1) Tijjani is with us just half year and starting become very good... 2) Nico Gonzalez don't get back quick enough? And you know why? He is tired like animal because he must helping ,, one 70 year old lookalike slow man called Bernie " and that's one of reasons why we concede that goal... 3) Rodri and Mateo are injured so i don't know why we not starting with 2 tall and fast defensive midfielders Gonzalez and Khusanov or Gonzalez and Nunes with Khusa on right back... When we play this midfield we don't concede that goal... Khusa's running top speed is 37km/h Bernie's maybe 25km/h

Disagree with some of the negativity. He's on track, I think especially for a first year player. I think he is good enough to adjust to a new team and league. On course for a 20+ goal contribution year in his first go around. He'll be fine.
