Media discussion - 2025/26

I’ve posted previously about Rooney that (imo) personally he’s hard to dislike, and has the odd faintly amusing anecdote in his locker, but he is woefully equipped to combine the twin requirements of his job, namely analysis and articulation because he does not possess the requisite number of functioning brain cells.

He is also a fat, granny shagging ****.
Ungenerous - he had sufficient completed synaptic events to provide his penetrating MOTD contribution last night.

Nah, he tripped him , should have been sent off and we almost certainly lose as a result. Getting the first card for mouthing off was pretty stupid too.
It’s widely accepted that the second yellow card must be more deserving than the first. In this particular incident, the referee couldn’t be certain that Dias intentionally tripped Diving Jesus. It certainly wasn’t malicious; Dias was simply looking at the ball’s flight, so it could have been an accident. That’s why he didn’t give him a second yellow card.

Absolutely agree abut his first booking but, it does illustrate the City players' frustration with the soft fouls that the ref was awarding numerous times you could see their disbelieve with decisions

Clubs’ coaching staff are fully aware of referees’ working methods, the poor ones like Jones, will issue a foul if a player falls to the ground. Therefore, they inform the players what to anticipate. Forwards are very clever at backing into the defender and putting arms behind their back to conn the ref its exactly what MGW did for that resulted in Cherki's goal

Smacked arse face Ogden on Sunday Supplement again, he is one miserable bastard this fella, anyway out the 3 on they’ve just been asked who wins it, 2 say City he said Arsenal without a second hesitation, he proper hates us doesn’t he that ****
He's a rag so not unexpected

He doesn't trip him.

He's got to get goal-side, both Dias and Jesus know that.

Dias looks to see where Jesus is, but as he steps across Jesus initiates the contact by slowing down.
Dias makes contact but it's not a deliberate foul, but Jesus still takes a step and then throws himself down, rolls over and starts his un-punished card waving bullshit.

It's an engineered situation. Without the extra step - foul. With the extra step - yellow for simulation.

Remembering of course that the TNT editors had that angle all the time and chose not to show it either on replay in the match or in the hour of analysis and reaction that followed. Blatant US cartel propaganda machine.
Like the Llorente handball in the ECL, still pisses me off 6years on,stopped a potential quadruple!

You got me convinced of his complete innocence now, what did I get wrong about his card, was that just Pigmol instructions?

It was the arms around the neck from Dias that got him the booking, as soon as he does it IJ goes down like a sack of shit with the ref just behind him. It was soft but it is daft to have your hands so high.

Employing my admittedly rusty and underused lip-reading skills, I believe Dias referenced the Forest player's name whilst attempting (in his broken English) to plead his innocence in the "grappling" incident. The ref simply misunderstood and thought that he was using the name as a "religious expletive" and reacted accordingly by unjustly booking him. It was all a total misunderstanding. Jesus!

;)

He probably did trip him but I'd say it was careless rather than reckless, so no card required.

So is the MUEN now behind a paywall......I just tried to look to see how they scored the players today out of 10, then I get a pop up to tell me I have zero free articles remaining to read.......apologies if this is discussed elsewhere..........the slow death of the MUEN is gathering pace!

They have introduced a paywall for their ‘premium’ content. The success of The Mill and its subscriber model has absolutely put the shits up them
Can be bypassed by copying the link and pasting into archive.ph
Its website is already all but unreadable, like all Reach PLC titles, and now they want people to pay for that spam and pop-up atrocity against the user experience? Hilarious and doomed to failure

The Mill btw does some occasionally interesting stuff but imo the articles are often written from a preconceived position
Also run by former out of town student reds so its very biased in that regard. Publish uncritical nonsense about FC Tribute Act while laying into our owners etc
Most of all they do exposes of sexual misconduct - bar owners, council officials etc - yet hilariously, and with breathtaking hypocrisy, gloss over the behaviour of its founder when he briefly worked in the US. His predatory conduct towards young women he managed was brutally exposed in this long read

I don't care how much the sheep listen to the media, motd pundits, opposition media, Dias didn't deserve to be sent off for his performance yesterday. Those two tackles amounted to 1 yellow in reality. And reality is not something those pundits apply to the shite they talk about City.

That some City fans listen to (ex-utd) fanboy pundits and the bile they come out with about City is just about as worse.

Their pov is that anything that hurts City helps utd. Don't fkin listen to them

Another masterful explanation that absolves Father Ruben from all guilt - except perhaps for being pulled out of the middle leaving O'Brien in an overload that led to their goal.
