A nation devoid of colour in our fashion

Cars have gone the same way. 98% of vehicles you see are either black, white or some shade of grey.
Where have all the funky colours gone?
It's grey and bleak enough in Manchester, we need another flower power revival. It might make people start liking each other again.
Unfortunately it costs more to have a colour.

I am, to put not too fine a point on it, a tad on the portly side and at 6’3” quite a big impression is immediately made (6’3” tall and similar around … ok, a little bit exaggerated on the second one but you get my drift!!). That said, I hate the limited choice of clothes and colours I’m expected to wear!!

To counter this, I like to choose brighter colours whites, yellows, pale blues etc .. I also tend to wear chino or fluorescent coloured shorts all the time. If I’m going to be noticeable let’s be bright doing it!!

Americans seem so much more conscious of the lack of colour offered to us and so I recently purchased a long, white with a beige faux fur lining, winter jacket which I just love.

Btw, I’ve been with my female fiancée for 25+ years so the choice of colour and style is not a gay thing!!

Why are we expected to appear as just black, grey or navy ‘blobs’ in the shadows just because we’re larger or because it’s winter??

25 years and you've not married the poor lass yet?

Sounds like you're blowing all your money on colourful clothing rather than paying for a wedding.

The Etihad is the same. The new North Stand looks like it’s been designed by EL James.

I wear dark coloured clothing because I like to blend in and not stand out. Works for me.

Nice gear of course, none of that Stolen from Ivor malarkey.

Don't get me wrong I tend to wear black or dark blue jackets or coats, but do have a tan summer coat and an orange winter one, but they tend to get used infrequently as I opt for darkness. so I am no different than anyone else

I might start wearing hawaiin shirts now I am turning 50 and brighter colours though

Denim jackets are also something that seem to have dissapeared, not that I ever had one but I cannot recall seeing anyone in one for a while.

note double denim is not a cool combination
And what’s happened to Wrangler cord jackets? Used to be ubiquitous.

The Etihad fashion correspondent writes:
This year, men will generally be wearing last year’s shirt, with buttons straining over the belly.
Women will sport vagazzle in blue and white with maroon highlights.
Definitely out are shoes, replaced by distressed look trainers and hats, which are no longer worn.
In the tourist section (home seats) bravery is the order of the day when wearing half and half scarves.
The least that is said about men’s haircuts the better; that’s the fault of the players setting ridiculous trends, especially Foden. Viking tresses are de rigeur for the women, but not with horned helmets.

I blame utd's MIBs.
Very bland.
But there again every little rap loving feral on every council estate wear the 'all black' uniform of a wannabee Yank gangsta
