I am, to put not too fine a point on it, a tad on the portly side and at 6’3” quite a big impression is immediately made (6’3” tall and similar around … ok, a little bit exaggerated on the second one but you get my drift!!). That said, I hate the limited choice of clothes and colours I’m expected to wear!!
To counter this, I like to choose brighter colours whites, yellows, pale blues etc .. I also tend to wear chino or fluorescent coloured shorts all the time. If I’m going to be noticeable let’s be bright doing it!!
Americans seem so much more conscious of the lack of colour offered to us and so I recently purchased a long, white with a beige faux fur lining, winter jacket which I just love.
Btw, I’ve been with my female fiancée for 25+ years so the choice of colour and style is not a gay thing!!
Why are we expected to appear as just black, grey or navy ‘blobs’ in the shadows just because we’re larger or because it’s winter??
