Antoine Semenyo | Prefers to join City - Ornstein (p73)

Ben Jacobs is reliable because of his connections to Hughes and said Liverpool aren't intrested in Semenyo, so I have no idea why people are freaking out. Bournemouth are using Liverpool name to push us to pay more when we activate his RC.

Nope we will buy him at the fee 60+5m only thing to negotiate is Semyno wages

I don’t see Cherki as being included in the midfield options as much, there would only imo ever be one of Phil or Cherki starting, unless one was wide. Bearing in mind we’ve got a good run at all competitions between now and summer then having an extra midfielder wouldn’t be such a bad thing if the price was right when there are so many questions marks against Rodders and Kova fitness.
If we buy Semenyo, I see Cherki becoming a 10, with Foden the 8, in a Gundogan/ KDB kind of way, something Ithink Foden is very capable of. Granted that would require one of the fullbacks inverting rather than overlapping, maybe Pep giving Nunes minutes in the middle is part of that. If Rodri returns it still leaves Reijnders, Gonzalez , and lets say Anderson to rotate.
Who really knows Peps thinking ,guess we'll see.

A potentially league winning signing of he hits the ground running. One of the best players in the league on current form. Realistically it will take time for him to settle in though

It wouldn't be a swap.
More likely to be 2 separate sales.
Similar to Dias and Otamendi.

Then why would Ake go there on a cut price contract. And would Bournmouth pay a big fee for an ageing player.

There are bigger clubs showing interest.

Just seems something dreamt up by a couple of posters.
Of course you and the other 2 may be right.

not comparing, but we've signed that before in Bony. He was top scorer in the calendar year when we bought him and it just didn't work out.

so what is Semenyo's close control like? as that was the Bony problem

Kovacic hasn't played and even if fit doubt he'd have played that much.Assuming Bernardo and Kovacic leave for the 3 midfield places Rodri, Gonzalez, Reijnders, Foden, Cherki and maybe one of Wharton or Anderson. I'm only guessing we have summer targets, but if we do we don't need a 7th player, plus it seems Pep is showing a bit of trust in Nunes playing some minutes in there.
Kovacic played quite a lot of games last season as dm last season so had he not been injured he'd have rotated with Nico G this season.

Had Paquata not been screwed over by the FA he'd have been a City player by now & Its not guaranteed that we sign one of Wharton or Andersen in the summer but getting Paquata & Semenyo in January for less than £100m would give us the ability to pay the big bucks if the club feels that Rodri isnt the same player, especially as he's 30 next year

They are two completely different people, how does this even make sense? Bony is Bony, Semenyo is very much not Wilfred Bony reincarnated
