Seat Counters 25/26

Go into 'how many seats are available to away fans' category 1 guests connected to there club, rows and rows all over the ground, some for extended tv cameras!!, correct me if I am wrong here but do they still have the away seats as normal?

City should have given them the whole of south stand upper, with tickets made available for uk based Galatasaray fans. This worked well years ago for poznan (albeit a different stand). This would go someway to satisfying the demand.
Yes. Just a bit of common sense for what looks like a dead rubber game for us. That said I don’t think there will be much trouble. We have no history with Gala fans who got on well with our fans in Istanbul. And Gala fans despise United and Liverpool. I am optimistic for now.

I'm neither optimistic nor pessimistic although having never played them previously it would be difficult to have any history of conflict.

Ultimately a lot will depend on how the game unfolds, especially if it's one of those routine 2-0 victories where City just pass the opposition to death without ever getting out of first gear.

However we have a huge local Turkish community and it would be naive bordering on fucking clueless if the club assume that some of them don't already have a purchase history extending to previous seasons (just like I've got a purchase history of 5 games at Bayer Leverkusen)

Last season we had 3 domestic cup games v Watford Huddersfield and Plymouth, all of which were available to every local Turkish football supporter, if they fancied becoming a member and attending a random English football game.

If we're that precious about empty seats then we should be praying that the FA Cup 4th Round (assuming we beat Exeter) is away from the Etihad, as we'll also have the Carabao Semi Final 2nd Leg v Newcastle in the same fortnight

Fans can argue all day about ticket pricing, but it's also about the travel and the time off work.

Otherwise we should have seen this coming and as somebody has already suggested, offered Galatasaray more tickets, or (like the Poznan home game) have an extra block for their English based supporters.

I'll be in 119 with the 8 familiar faces, but that happens on every CL night regardless

Also in 119( formerly 219) , I might be one of the 8 !

How many Blues are you taking to the game mate? Corporates is a law to itself but if Blues buy up the regulars seats then Gala won’t be everywhere.

I think it’s up to Blues to fill up the seats and prioritise the safety of our fellow fans. That includes the minority of Blues who just seem to be on the Champs League scheme to boost their ticket points
To be honest I’m in two minds whether to go. If it’s like the Celtic game a few years ago, I don’t think it’s worth the hassle. That probably adds to the issue though!

Yep it's a weird one as so many regulars from the pre takeover days just can't be arsed with the CL

Not necessarily down to the price of the tickets but definitely more noticeable after the capacity increased from 47,000 without any improvement to the transport infrastructure

Either huge traffic driving to midweek home games or going on the train and getting home after midnight
They can just about tolerate it for PL midweek fixtures but nothing else.

I'm still fairly local and me and my youngest lad are still in all the cup schemes.Getting there isnt too much of a problem as we are on one of the matchday bus routes, but I must admit
the night matches are getting harder for me to motivate myself and its seems to be more of a habit now

Fair play to them, that's a very good effort.

I wouldn't worry about Exeter fans in the home end, they only sold out once it went on general sale so all of their Season Ticket Holders and Members will definitely have been sorted. Might just be the odd day tripper without a ticket.
I feel a EX postcode Ban on tickets sold out of the MCFC ticket office, In coming??!! :0)

LOL

It is difficult to predict and my view is based on anecdotal information from my barber who has lived in Lancs for 16 years and has large extended family in South Manchester who are apparently all avid City fans. In fact two of them have season tickets. He reckons up to 20,000 Gala fans live in Northern England and they all want to go! However he insists they won't cause trouble and City fans gained a lot of fans in Turkey from the CL final. Gundogan is a big Gala fan (now player) as well. So I suppose we will have to wait and see.

This modern way of thinking that a ground should not have an empty seat for any game is ridiculous.

Social Media fueled nonsence.

The focus always used to be on how many people were there, not how many who aren't.

Nothing runs at full capacity every single week for ever, and that includes football matches.

We don't help ourselves with the ticketing policies though but another factor for me is the amount of bans we issue!

Was it 52 issued last year? Probably regular attenders who did something daft, doesn't warrant a long ban!

I can't recall any noteable mither last season from City fans, yet 52 get bans!

I wonder how many bans have been issued over the last 10 years, far too many I bet.
My mate got a ban that still hasn’t been sorted from the Lpool home game last season where he was accused of punching a steward when he didn’t do anything of the sort.

Correct. Same with my mate.
Arrested in February for Affray (v Liverpool)
Bailed until May
Released Under Investigation in May (no time limit)
Not found guilty of any crime but still has a stadium ban and lost his season ticket of 22yrs

Don’t think they caused trouble at the rags game did they? Just a lot of them.

I know a lad who went with his young nephew, he was sitting close to a large group of Gala fans, had no problem at all, no problems at Half time either. It maybe different if they have to beat us to go through and we win, but I dont think we will see large scale problems.

Disgusting that, needs representation. Plenty of clever law people on here.

My poor example I always think of, if he allegedly punched someone in Tesco, he wouldn't be banned from every Tesco and other shops!

How football is allowed to make it's on laws is beyond me.

He would be banned from every Tesco shop, whether they would or could enforce it,is a different matter.

My mate went with his 10 year old nephew, said they were all over the ground, including a full block near to his seat, he said they were loud but didn't cause any trouble, he did say that utd fans round him had caused the stewards more problems, wanting them to be hrown out. He in the Fergi Stand
