It adds to the quality of depth that we have lacked in the last couple of seasons.

When we had front three options of Agüero Jesus Sterling Sané Mahrez BSilva and Foden in 2018-19 we weren’t that far off winning every single trophy on offer which no other team has ever done and the goals spread across those players was huge.

Last season we had Haaland Doku Marmoush Savinho and Grealish. It lacked depth and was very reliant on only a few players scoring most of the goals. Now with Cherki we are starting to get another chipping in and adding a player like Semenyo will add to that more… plus the quality of depth starts to look closer to 2018-19 than 2024-25.

And Semenyo is very versatile:

Can play anywhere in any attacking area, he’s both footed, carries the ball very well in transitions, he defends excellently, he’s rarely injured.

Will be a really good signing.

Yeah, that's what I'm getting at. He's a sub, at best in this squad. £65million for a bench player who isn't a great fit for the way they're currently playing. Seems like a waste. Seems like money that could be better spent to bolster their midfield and their backline.

This makes total sense though.

We support City and the midfield we support is our midfield.
