I think its more that he lacked the pace to be an out & out winger & go past the fullback. De Bruyne, Gundogan & Foden were all ahead of him when it came to playing in central midfield
Reports of it still happening at Everton but they love him there.

Was out on the piss in a strip club until the early hours on Christmas eve and then phoned in sick with flu for their next game.
If Semenyo brings his quality and is dedicated to the cause then he won't need any excuses about talent 'being coached out of him'.

He won’t ever shift them demons every now and then unfortunately but he’s genuinely a lovely guy , met him 5 or 6 times at games and he’s always been amazing with my Down syndrome daughter
