North Stand Construction Discussion

No, I haven't. I never considered that an OSC would buy up tickets. Seems an odd thing to do as it prevents others from buying them from the club directly.
Does it matter if there are Blues are in the seats for these games. I have read on here that most games aren't selling out.

I guess thanks isn't in your vocabulary lol.

I just don't get why an OSC buy tickets and stop others from buying them.

Maybe that's normal but I've struggled to get two tickets together repeatedly this season.

There's loads of tickets available for Blues for most games. Try going on Man City Face Value Tickets & Travel as well as the Official Site. Maybe you wouldn't like them either.

And are they allowed to sell them - like on seatpick.com there are tickets available against Chelsea - can I buy them and trust that they will actually get me into the stadium?

After seeing the condition of the stadium of Light, the away stand, the stairs, the concourses, the facilities, the toilets, and the bars, it made me realise how lucky and privileged we are to have a stadium like the Etihad, bar the odd grumble and unfinished snagging issues.

There was an Estrella beer cart on the away concourse manned by two Sunderland staff. It wasn’t working before the match. A supervisor got it working before half-time. However, it was tucked away around a corner, to the left of the main bar where everyone was getting their drinks from. While I was stood next to it, the two Sunderland staff didn’t pour or sell a single pint from it. In the end they closed it down just after the start of the 2nd half. The Estrella beer cart didn’t make any money. In fact it lost money as Sunderland had to pay 2 Sunderland staff to man it.

I bought a round. 4 plastic bottles of Carlsberg cost me £27.

Was my first visit to Sunderland and I agree with you about the state of the ground. One of the poorest away ends I've been in for facilities (i thought it was worse than Villa upper).

The size of the concourse was an unpleasant surprise. Felt very congested and uncomfortable.

Still not as congested as Leeds or Sheffield United
Last time I went to Leeds the away end was behind the goal. Van Buyten got sent off so it’s going back a long time. I assume it’s the same down the side?

Agree that Sheff Utd is also pretty bad. Went to Forest last season and they opened up the concourse so you get outside. Made a massive difference. Not sure if they do that every game?

Just realised I’m going off thread here. Apologies :-)

I'm assuming that when we actually get round to opening the stand, the club will have to have a couple of test events before they get the necessary safety certificate. Maybe have it at 33% capacity?

I was looking at where the abseiling platform is going to be in one of the videos and I am surprised that there are glass panels near the bottom. (Unless I am looking in the wrong place)
