Injuries 2025/26 | Rodri back in “partial” training

Bollocks
Oliver is responsible and should be investigated
That **** Oliver just ran past Gvardiol when he was rolling about in agony banging his fists on the floor. The club need to get answers as to why Oliver let play continue. I could see it was serious from the stands, Oliver would have heard the shouts coming from Gvardiol as well. What an absolute **** !!!

Fibula Fracture: Types & Treatment
For a fractured fibula in football, bone healing often takes 6-8 weeks, but full return to sport, including rehab, can range from 2-4 months for simple breaks, while more severe injuries (like those with tibia involvement or needing surgery) can sideline players for 3-6 months or longer, depending heavily on severity, surgery, and individual rehab progress
is this what happened to Oscar?

It's Tibia, not Fibula.

Even worse

For football players, a fractured tibia typically means a recovery of 3 to 6 months, but can extend to 9-12 months or more for full return to demanding play, depending on severity (simple vs. surgical/comminuted), treatment (conservative vs. pins/plates), and individual rehab, with studies showing NFL players averaging over 350 days out, highlighting the long road back to peak performance.

Yeah, and if it's down near the ankle there could also be ligament damage, it's a bad injury either way.

Hopefully it’s just a simple break and they are operating to speed progress even then it’s going to be towards end of season

I have no medical knowledge, but Dr Google brought up a few studies that seemed to indicate there is a much higher rate of return to peak performance with surgery. I mentioned earlier my son’s friend who had surgery last week for a tibial fracture and he was told something similar. Hopefully it’s not an indication of severity and just a quicker path forward and it’s ready for next season.

Unfortunately, tibial fractures are known for complications and as surgery is required it's not a minor break.
