North Stand Construction Discussion

Is it that difficult to figure out?

Cheap tickets. And next season sell season tickets.
I don't think it's as simple as cheaper tickets. At the end of the day the club has to sell at a certain level as it has to operate as a business and meet financial balances. Even at a lower rate, I suspect many fans still wouldn't go, I genuinely think that prices are a bit of a convenient excuse for many people (and I'm not saying all before people have a go), even for games where tickets are cheaper, the uptake is often slow. I think there is a general apathy towards the club and team by many at the moment, this could be for a whole host of reasons, a possible few could be (only my opinion obvs):

- All the success over the previous decade.
- Some of the decisions made by the club about ticketing in general
- The drop off last season
- The sometimes boring nature of our pedestrian paced football recently
- Too many games on TV
- Breakup of the lomg dominating squad ovlf players over the past few years.

I'm not saying it's all of these factors, I just think it's more complicate than just reducing tickets prices.

The club seriously needs to think about the new stand development though and who will sit there, it could be a huge lost opportunity and an embarrassment if it goes the way it's looking like. I think we all expected a packed 'blue wall' of hardcore fans, whereas it could end up being a patchwork of corporate, family and empty seats.

They also need to sort out the debacle of tickets in general, there are so many times I try to get an extra ticket, none are available, then at the game there are available seats all around me.

I would honestly delay opening until next season and have a radical re-think on how they are going to fill it in the mean time
They should open it asap extra revenue and the chance of some important games in PL & UCL maybe FAC get the test events done as well, along term planning doesn’t need a delay

But how would the fans get access if there is still a building site behind the stand?
There will be turnstiles on each side, it will probably be possible to open the NW corner first provided there is then a safe pass through the stairs to a concourse There’s over four months to the end of the season

Yes but how much building material and equipment is just behind those doors? They don’t appear to have started fitting out the stand with food/drink outlets or toilets yet?
If the club want to open the stand then all that can be sorted it wont be fully open initially so not all the F&B has to be ready tickets sales could be on the basis that there are some restrictions regarding F&B

Not sure how you know that they haven't started the fitting out of the stand yet, there is lots going on internally with fitting out even in the hotel and commercial building which obviously cant be seen on the drone videos
