our 5th goal (rico's 1st) stuck out to me. this is what erling should be doing and what he just doesn't do anymore. attack the 6 yard box, be ahead of the defender for easy tap ins. yes, the cross was good, but this cross exists for us in almost every game but he's never there. he waits and hides behind defenders. very frustrating. can't believe i am saying it but maybe rico should teach you some movements in the box!

I thought we were underwhelming in that first half and he was a large part of that. Five passes and one shot on target against League 1 strugglers for supposedly the greatest striker of this and many other generations. That's fucking abysmal.

Looks so out of form at the moment - either carrying a knock ( as we have no other options at present ) or just knackered.
Either way he needs to miss a game or 2.
We are playing with 10 men with him in the lineup at present

I guess the question to ask is, when he does stuff like this, why do these actions in particular?

You'd imagine the various data analysts would have been telling him to do something else if it were better. But why isn't he doing it? I refuse to believe he's going rogue. Plus he gets a lot of goals with whatever he's doing

I'm not explicitly saying you or anyone else bringing this up is wrong. But I do think it's worth trying to understand what he's trying to do before we decide it's wrong all the time

i mentioned in semenyo's thread, Haaland likes to go to the far post and if he attacks the near post, with semenyo's crosses he would score a lot.

It is difficult to be mentally and physically on top every 3 days. Needs less minutes overall and allowed to focus on the important games. There is also a clear injury risk in playing every 3 days. Personally I think he will be just fine when the occation demands it, like in the derby and in champions league.
