Seat Counters 25/26

That was very early in the second half and beer is more important to some fans.
A lot of newbies go for food etc during the HT interval not realising there might be a queue. Or kids just decide they’re hungry just before the second half is due to start, it’s a bit less organised taking young ones to the game.

Some people are just completely in denial. There were hundreds of empty seats throughout the game in the bottom tier of the North Stand. Plenty in the top tier also. This for a game that was sold out.

One row alone is completely empty.

The actual conclusive proof.View attachment 179989

We win 10-1 and your angry at empty seats this well other kids could of gone to the game is a fair argument but bottom line is Man City sell tickets to out side sources and fans can’t make it or didn’t fancy it.

Personally now it’s pretty tedious! We must be the only club who has fans who moan about empty seats continually! Maybe it there insecurity because of the constant reporting of it for no other reason to have a go at Man City fans..

No, I’m just providing a counter argument against the idiots that are denying there were any empty seats.

Plenty of people on here have said they tried to get tickets for the game and were unable to do so as the game was sold out.

Others had tickets and couldn’t make it last minute but were unable to pass them on.

How can we be in a situation like this and still have thousands of empty seats?

It’s the family stand. There are about 5 beer drinkers in there for any one game.

Here’s another shot from the 78th minute. Same empty seats. Still having a pint from half time are they?

One row in an area City have traditionally left seats for school coach parties and younger age group players who arrive late / or can’t always make it. Sure there will be hundreds of emotes scattered across the ground. There always is.

You seem obsessed about empty seats like Trafford Rangers. It was a huge crowd and a fantastic game. Do you really think a few hundred empty seats is a bigger deal than scoring ten goals?

Conclusive proof that there weren’t vast rows of empty seats in the North Stand.

I don't remember any big holes either. The original poster who made this claim must have looked around Kick Off, half-time or full-time

You said there weren’t any empty seats with your conclusive proof.

There were.
There shouldn’t be.

The club needs to sort out the issue with people not being able to go to the game and the inability to pass their tickets on. People can’t even give them back to the club for free. How is that right?

No I didn’t you liar.

I explained a variety of reasons why every seat wouldn’t be full. I shared footage of the North Stand that was pretty full for the goal celebrations.

No. Which pisses me off as I'm sure some Blues would have loved those tickets.
Although some see 75 minutes as full time, unless a trophy is being presented.

Scratching my head.

If the match states SOLD OUT on the OS with City fans still trying to buy cheap children and family match tickets, why were there ROWS of empty seats?

I appreciate there will be single or double seats, and maybe three or four seats together were a family hasn’t turned up, which would be quite strange, but not rows of empty seats for a SOLD OUT match.

Seriously, what is going on at City regarding the sale of match seats?

Is the same thing going to happen for the Carabao Cup - 2nd leg against Newcastle?

Zoom in on my pic on the stands that were open.

Of course there were empties mate and you will see the Tunnel Club and Directors box sparsley populated. It tough on the Blues who tried to buy last minute but I am afraid you get more no shows when tickets are cheap.

Like I posted earlier, there’s also plenty of illness going around and some fans are tired and / or broke after 3 games in 6 days.

That’s not conclusive proof at all. Most of the people are stood up and therefore you can’t see the empty seats.

I was at the game mate. I could see with my own eyes rows of empty seats. Why would I or others who attended make that up?

It wasn’t half time or when the match started either. Lots of blues actually missed out on attending this match

Unfortunately I think it was a case of people on the cup scheme feeling ‘it’s only a tenner if I don’t go’ amongst other reasons

We had two tickets in the East stand level 2 for years, before that we were in level 3 (ES).

We were there when Sergio scored his goal and stayed the following season.... after that the prices escalated massively and along with the cost of travelling up from South Wales (normally involving and overnight) it became unrealistic to hold on to them. We thought we would get tickets on an ad-hoc basis but even that has become unrealistic and very difficult so now we don't bother.... which is very sad, very sad indeed.

I have a pretty good record of watching City from March 1971 (my first home game). This was a time when City were a family friendly club. Sadly, times and City have changed and now not only are prices extortionate but the process of getting tickets have made it far too difficult to even attempt to try. I would love (and have through third party sellers) to attend the odd game on a whim so to speak but the club have admittedly through external pressures and market forces quite literally put a stop to all that. Like I say very sad.... but still a blue through a nd through.

My proudest moment was getting invited into the marble arches at Highbury by Joe Mercer and meeting the team in 1971 (got a full autograph book).... the best bit was when Bertie Mee came up and asked who I was and would I like to come into the Arsenal Dressing room and meet the players.... at 10 year old I turned round and said "no thank you, I'm here to see Manchester city"

There really are memories I will treasure until my last breath, but sadly City (like every other football club) are no longer that club.

In defence of them what City are doing in the community and developing East Manchester is pioneering and absolutely fantastic for the community.

Back on topic, I would have loved to have been able to pitch up and buy a ticket yesterday or V Brighton but I'm afraid it's just too much hassel these days.

As my name says, blue since 79. I got my first season ticket in 84. I was a Junior Blue and my uncle pretended he was my dad and we got an amazing deal.

I was 10 and when we went to sort the junior blue membership and season ticket the lady who ran the JBs had an office in the main entrance of the main stand.
Id like to day she was called jessie? But that may have been the lady who ran the club shop.
She led us into the main entrance and into her office. Imagine that as a 10 year old! Made a little more special when billy mcneil came out of his office. Jessie introduced us and he thanked us for our support.
She then took us into the stand and we picked our seats.
We were made to feel that the club were very grateful for our support. It was tough times for the club but we felt part of it.

Im under no illusion that City/football has changed beyond all recognition, never to go back to those days.
But the city seem to have gone too far and almost pissing “legacy fans” off on purpose

As i always say; “what a shame”.

So how would you reduce the number of no shows? It won’t be many Agency tickets against Exeter.

I think some posters on here just seem to be struggling to understand, why blues aren’t happy with the empty seats.

Families and lots of blues who wanted to go, couldn’t because the game is ‘sold out’ to then see rows of empty seats. As had been said, it’s not just fans not attending, it’s all in concentrated areas of the ground.
