If we can't beat those arseholes defense really won't have been the issue. I think we've run Erl ragged and he's basically been a place holder the last few games.

Id go:

Don
Nunes. Khus. Max. Ake
Rodri. O'Reilly
Cherki. Foden. Doku
Semenyo
You because unlike Haaland Foden has been absolutely fantastic of late.

He's been watching photos of him (his words), although he's now all in...

He reeks to high heaven that one.

For stating my opinion? This place haven’t changed much. It’s not rocket science. It’s like comparing pictures of Van Dijk and Rico Lewis and still not be able to get a sense of who wins most physical battles.

I just said Premier League is very physical, Reis will have to battle it out with them big boys and as of now, I don’t think it will end well.

Do I want him to succeed? Of course, but I don’t trust him to do a solid job in the heart of our defense. As said, I could be wrong.

From watching him play for us. And honestly just watching photos of him, it’s kind of obvious. He’s built more like a teenager than an adult. At least last year.
He was a teenager last year, in fact he was a teenager last week.

Alleyne and Reis added to Ruben and Josko takes a lot of that pressure off

Next season so experience why’s Dias Gvardiol centres back who else has that experience then? Khosovnov alleyne Reis don’t not if next season we get no injuries to Dias Gvardiol for long spells maybe it will get us through the season but for me we short of another experience player..

My rationale was he generally shows up vs. them lot. Sue me.

And - "You"?

They taught proofreading early doors in school.
Either brush up or keep up, your choice.

At some point it’s simple - shit or get off the pot.

We shouldn’t be begging anyone to play for us. This is Manchester City - the treble winners, Centurions, Fourmidables, Four in a Row. No other club in this country can say that.

The ambition is proven. The domination is recent and relentless. The structure, the leadership, the football - elite. If that isn’t enough to make a player desperate to wear the shirt, then they’re not the right fit anyway.

City don’t need convincing projects or hesitant passengers. We need players who are jumping at the chance, who understand what this club represents and want to be part of its next chapter.

If Guehi isn’t convinced, then fine, that’s his choice. But let’s be clear, it’s his loss and not ours.

As they say, plenty more fish in the sea.

For whatever reason , he isn’t coming . Just my view

He was 20 this week so no wonder he was built like a teenager last year. Pretty sure he has played less than three hours of football for first team, the majority of which were against orient and Plymouth When did you watch him play for us?

Imagine Reis trying to defend a corner against Gabriel, Saliba, Van Dijk, or anyone else physical. He wouldn’t stand a chance imo. I like Reis but I’m just not sure he has the physicality for the league.

It’s worth remembering that he’s only 20 years old. At that age, very few centre backs are the finished article physically. What he’s shown at Girona is why people are excited. He reads the game well, positions himself intelligently, doesn’t panic under pressure and he's very good on the ball. He's also shown mental resilience and leadership in that defence at such a young age. He’s held his own in a league that still tests defenders tactically and technically, and he’s done it in a side that asks a lot of its centre backs.

Physicality can be built. Strength, timing, aggression at set pieces all come with age and coaching. What’s harder to teach is composure, awareness, and the ability to play in a structured system. Reis already has those skills. Can't write him off because he's 20 years old, and all those top scouts who had glowing reports about him can't be wrong.

I know one shouldn't care what the rivals are up to, but if Marc goes to Arsenal, I could see them reach several 85+ point seasons in the upcoming years with Gabriel, Saliba, Guehi as centreback options. It wouldn't be great. I'd rather he went to Liverpool or abroad if he's not joining us.

I think Arsenal are stacked for centrebacks, so they'll only get him if Gabriel or Saliba are going to Madrid. Which they might. If that happens I dont think it moves them forward, it keeps them where they are - which is strong though anyway.

Liverpool have been lucky Van Dijk and Konate haven't picked up any injuries this year, because there really isn't much back up. Guehi could be a big help for them.

Agree though that it'd be better if he went abroad - at least that way Arsenal and Liverpool would have to pay our transfer fees if they want any centre-backs and it might restrict their spending a bit more.
