Had a text this morning saying that we have contacted Brentford yesterday to open talks for Kayode.

Im unsure on how many english trained players we would have with the rumoured Ake and Stones departures at the end of the season. That's why being linked to Livramento, Guehi and Anderson makes sense. Do we need only 2 homegrown players?

A decent defender and among one of the best of his age group. I don’t see this as a January target. Firstly he is right footed but that said he plays on the left side of a back two CB pairing. If we are going for him this month can only mean Guehi isn’t coming to us this month.

Dippers had been strongly linked this month for him but seem to prefer to wait now until summer.

Don't need 8, plus we'd have Semenyo so 7 out of 8 would be fine, when you add O'Reilly and Allenye, McAidoo, maybe Anderson or Wharton,you can take Phillips out for a start probably Bobb and Trafford. Home grown, when added to the free list of 17 will give us about 24/25, won't be an issue.

Guehi means 6 CBs at the club next season, and that assumes the departure of Stones and Ake.

Dias, Gvardiol, guehi, khusanov, reis, alleyne.

I think Alleyne will be sold with a buy back, or loaned to a prem club/girona.

I’d imagine it’d be to rotate with Nunes with Lewis either moving on or moving into midfield as cover. Unfortunately I don’t think he has the legs to be a fullback in this league.

We have Gvardiol, O’Reilly and Ait Nouri who can play left back so it’d make sense if we want to strengthen the right. Kayode is also young enough to be a squad player for a season or two to settle in you’d think.

I reckon—correct me if I’m wrong—that if Stones, Ake, and Bobb were to move on next season, with everything else staying as is plus the additions of Guehi and Andersen, this is how the homegrown list would look:

According to what I've seen online, O'Reilly is still too young to actually be put on the homegrown list

Remember that any association-trained player above the max of 4 has to take one of 17 foreign-trained places. Therefore, one player will need to be unregistered to make space for both Guehi and Semenyo.

Next season, Lewis will have to be registered as club-trained. O'Reilly and Alleyne (provided he stays at the club) have another season on the b-list.

Don't see Mbete playing a role personally and let's just ignore Phillips.
