I'm guessing he'll go straight into the team if he's signed. Be interesting to see how he gets on. I don't watch Palace so I've absolutely no idea how good he is but a lot of people on here are very excited so his first Matchday Forum will be a fun watch.

Pace absolutely vital for our defenders due to the likliehood of teams using counter attack tactics.

Marc Guehi's top speed recorded during the
2023-24 Premier League season was 33.92 km/h. He is generally considered to have good pace for a central defender, which he uses to great effect in recovery runs and defensive positioning.

Speed & Ratings
Marc Guehi is described as a quick defender who uses his pace to close gaps and cover teammates effectively.

For comparison Khusanov is around 37km/h and Van De Ven (the record holder) on 37.38km/h. Nunes is 36.7km/h. Now pace is obviously not football ability but it is, like height and strength, a free attribute that can only improve a side.

We're getting a £70/80 million pound defender for 20 million. I imagine he's a fucking nice wedge as he could have very easily sat on his arse for 6 months and got a monsterous signing on fee off somebody AND a nice fat wage.

25 year old, England centre half. He's going to command top dollar!

We've basically done what Madrid, Bayern and Barca have done for years! World class players for very little money. We're at the top table now. Players come here with a near guarantee of a title challenge and CL win.
You are Kaveh Solhekol, where's my fiver

The 300k a week is basically just his wage + implied bonus in the for of a weekly wage.

I think of it more like 250 + 50 (bonus) which is around 10m over 4 years, which is fine.

At worst he is a PL proven England international that is a competent squad player and also helps out with squad registration since he is homegrown, much needed with Stones/Ake likely to leave soon. But hopefully he can also prove to offer a lot more than that. Cant really go that wrong at such a low price. Brilliant signing!

Hahahahaha the BBC sport HYS on the Guehi transfer is delicious loads of anger issues surfacing absolutely brilliant..
It's just full of spotty twisted dippers spewing bile about the charges and chequebook Pep every time the shit stirring BBC open up a City article for them.
The same spotty gormless cunts who thought that by spending nearly half a billion on players in the summer, would somehow get them regaining titles.

So, will his off the books payments be 117??

Wonder if that's Gvardiol moving out to LB and O'Reilly moving into midfield.

Nunes, Dias, Guehi, Gvardiol
Khusanov, Reis, Alleyne, Ait-Nouri

Rodri, Gonzalez
Anderson, O'Reilly

Something like that.
Ive just posted something similar

Reason being, is i personally think Gvardiol is more valuable at LB than he is at CB; in fact i think hes wasted there

That back 4 with Donnarumma, and Rodri, Nico's, potentially Anderson in front is an absolute brick wall of a unit

Add Doku, Foden, Semenyo and Cherki to Haaland, and that's a team that looks formidable going into next season

If the rumours are true.

£10mill signing on fee, and £200K a week wages.

Guehi crowd surfing to sign his City contract.

Agree. He seems a bit of a snowflake getting upset about wearing a rainbow armband. I find it ironic that his defense is that he's showing his love for another man, Jesus. Seems like a character flaw to me. Wish City hadn't signed him.
The vast majority of football players couldn't care less about LGBTQ issues or any other cause for that matter. They all live in a bubble and obey those who pay them. If fundamentalist Muslims paid them, they would obey them; if a dictator paid them, they would obey them in the same way. We really need to stop believing that football players have causes that are close to their hearts. If all these players were told not to kneel for BLM or not to wear the rainbow armband in exchange for a large sum of money, they would do so in a heartbeat.

Even though I totally disagree with Marc Guehi, I appreciate the fact that at least he believes in something.
