Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Just today?

It’s OK for football to pass a manager by. Happens all the time. Especially to ones who are too stubborn to change their ways.

I’m a coach myself. Of course managers can get the setup or balance wrong, everyone has weaknesses. But saying football has 'passed by' top innovators like Wenger or Pep is far too simplistic analysis. Getting decisions wrong in certain games isn’t the same as decline.

Let no one lose sight of the fact that he went to go grab a seat and fucking completely give up by the way. For half an hour. Fk off

I agree with this mate.

Too many similar performances like today are occuring. We look stale.

All good things have to come to an end.

I think we need a fresh start as a fanbase as well .
Didn't you call me a gimp earlier! To be honest I think I prefer that version of you ;)

Don’t forget the last two FA Cup finals as well. Horrendous performances in both and one of them being a derby, in which we looked like a side overawed by the occasion.
The United one, he let them all go on the piss after the league was won and hence we were miles off it (similar start to today's match in fact with Gvardiol and Ortega gifting them the opener). Very unprofessional of him to allow the drinking to affect a cup final like that.

Since the day he arrived hes almost apologised everytime we beat the rags. Hes got some weird obsession with GPC and never misses an opportunity to talk about the history and what a fantastic club the rags are. Its sickening to watch and embarrassing as a city fan to hear him talking in press conferences like hes the fucking rags manager.

Starting 11 today was a disgrace and didn't do a single thing to change it. Just sat motionless.

He’s absolutely miles away from getting the best out of that squad, and other than a few good performances here and there, we haven’t been good enough for 18 months now. Far from it in fact.

Our recruitment has been patchy but we have added some good players, and yet we keep getting undone by the same things week in, week out. For the amount of backing he’s had, that’s simply not acceptable.

A suicidal high line, a lack of legs in midfield, pointless side to side passing and other than trying to get Doku one on one, we don’t have any pattern of play or indeed a personality and identity to the team. United’s fight and desire today shows what’s lacking from our team.

We need to be looking at other managers because what’s being served up isn’t good enough.
The suicidal high line with a non existent press has to be the stupidest tactic in Football, and he just can't let go of it, either you press effectively and play a high line, or you sit deep, I thought he finally got it earlier in the season when we played more conservatively but no, he's gone back to it.

Football hasn’t passed Pep, just like it never passed Wenger. Fans are far too reactionary and often lack proper football analysis.

The reality is Pep didn’t get the balance right today. He trusted Foden again despite his recent form, and you also can’t ignore the defensive injuries. The side clearly lacked cohesion across both midfield and defence.

I’m frustrated because it feels like the league is gone now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t give an honest assessment of what went wrong in these games.

Just have to bounce back stronger and rebuild the winners mentality. Pep must be honest about certain players like Foden, Lewis and their limitations. One consolation, I think United can also stop Arsenal next week too
They have no chance against Arsenal

United won’t have an easier game all season.

A couple of short passes in midfield and we’re wide open at the back. Every week. And there’s no sign of it changing.

I remember reading that at the time and was absolutely livid. Cost me a fortune to go down and watch that game, for them to do that.
