Striking to see how many away end tickets go to the ticket tout sites. This was supposedly with 5 mins to go^ and most of that cluster of the away end are queuing up to get out.

Sad times with ticketing at our club.
It says "checking goal" so I'm guessing it was on 90 minutes when the disallowed third went in. That's when I walked out.

Fair enough. Maybe it was more like 2/3rds that had left before the final whistle on a cold day.

I’ve posted several times and some of the mard arses on this forum haven’t been able to handle it but a lot of us have lost our passion.
I’ve been scratching my head at the lack of atmosphere at games this season, and it dawned on me that I think our support has not built a bond or rapport with this new team yet. It’s not that we don’t like our newer players but we just miss the likes of David Silva, Fernandinho, Kun Agüero, De Bruyne, Stones and Rodri (even though the latter two have not even left, they’ve just not been here), and there has been a huge and very quick overhaul of the squad and we haven’t taken to the newer crop of players as much yet.

We barely sing any songs for any of the current team: Donnarumma’s song hasn’t taken off, Trafford doesn’t have one, Lewis doesn’t have one, Gvardiol doesn’t have one, Khusanov doesn’t have one, we seldom sing Dias’ song, Nunes gets half-hearted ‘Nunes-Nunes’ chants now and again, Ait-Nouri doesn’t have one, O’Reilly doesn’t have one, Nico doesn’t have one, Foden’s song almost never gets sung, Bernardo Silva’s song has almost died these days, Doku doesn’t have one, Savinho doesn’t have one, Cherki has been getting the odd ‘Martin Petrov’ tune to be fair, Marmoush doesn’t have one, and Haaland’s never gets sung…

I’m not saying we need to quickly make up new songs for them all right away, but when we lose player chants for those that leave, we don’t fill the gap with the old classic City songs so nobody sings anything most of the time.

We never sing any of these anymore:
‘Oh Man City, the only football team to come from Manchester’ (got an airing at Leeds a couple of years ago, not heard since, and wasn’t heard for about ten years before then).
‘City, we’re from Manchester’, to the tune of ‘Go West’ (not heard this for 10+ years)
‘We’re the Pride of Manchester’
‘City til I die’
‘We all follow Man City, over land and sea, and Stretford’
‘You are my City, my only City, you make me happy when skies are grey’

We even went about two years recently without singing ‘Oh City we love you… we…love…you…City, we do’… I started moaning about us not singing it loads and tried to get it going much more at games and it has started creeping back into our song list a bit.

But while it takes us a while to form bonds with our new players/team and have songs naturally grow with them, we should sing the old City chants.

I agree with everything you’ve said. The one I can’t get my head around is not singing about foden.

One of our own, one of our best players over the last few years and was a major part in our success, yet we don’t sing about him.

When we do come up with a great, original chant ‘can’t start a fire’, we don’t sing it. Even when he scores a goal or he’s amazing, there’s still nothing. Other players who have only just arrrived are sung about more or United!

‘City til I die’ is our anthem for me, more than bluemoon and we’ve not sung that properly since mark hughes left. It’s baffling

Stand up if you love city is never sung either

Just watching Villa v Everton and you would never guess from the atmosphere that the home team could be within a few points of Arsenal if they win.

Just a song about McGinn and even that was only because he was going off injured.

Otherwise it's just that Yippee aye oh

So it's not just us
Never as been

It’s modern football

Just that away fans want to point it out all the time when they play us

Thought some of our chants were shite but that yippee aye shit takes some beating

I would love to hear the Semenyo version of Gold belting out around the Etihad. Like you say we need more songs for more of our players and build those links they encourage the fans to sing the player’s songs.

I have fond memories of getting, “ We Love You City” going in our away end at Everton when Dzeko had been poleazed for a few mins and we held on in injury time.

All anyone had to do back then was shout loud "WE DOOOOOOO"

Every fucker joined in.

Those days are mostly long gone lads and lasses.

Although whenever City win and Utd lose I adore that song belting out....."I never felt more like......... 1 banana, 2 banana, 3 banana, four"

He needs that chant at the moment n’all!

You'll never hear me defending anything ticket site related but in this instance that isn't the issue. That's the sight of the majority of our most hardened blues bailing. The tourists actually stay until the end and beyond soaking it in and getting every pennies worth of their extortianate ticket.
That picture was not taken five minutes from the end.

It was not full of half and half scarves but the home sections were.

It wasn’t as you say

The vast majority of City fans were bread and butter City fans.

I saw hardly any tourists or day trippers with half and half scarfs who had managed to get tickets.

I think City have made an effort and clamped down on that after what happened last season at Liverpool, Ipswich, and at other away games.

Really poor show from all those that bailed before the final whistle. We've all experienced far, far more humiliating defeats than that. Just fucking stay a
For the extra few minutes and don't turn our away end into a rags away end tribute.
Fuck that. I was off well before the end. We didn’t even look like we were trying to score it was that bad. No chance i was staying until the end to watch them celebrate and walk back to Chorlton with all those twats. The team deserved nothing after that abomination of a performance.

I honestly thought the atmosphere at Villa Park this season (when we lost) was terrible. In fact I can't think of many times over the years (apart from semi-finals) when that stadium has been rocking. Their away following has also been very poor over the years.

I was referring to United fans with half and half scarves. I saw plenty of them. Our support, as usual there, was hard core and very noisy before half time.
