Think being a little reactionary there mate. Saturday we had no real back line, a half fit Rodney, a big game 4 days ago and a Rag team up for it. I agree that team identity/style of play is lacking but that is being developed as the new team is put together. Yet despite this we are taking steps forward (and back) as expected. Anything we manage to achieve this year will be a bonus, next season more likely to see the step up we all all want when team full of players on same goal, not half thinking about where they will be next season.Expectations…
City have been immense, best in class for a long sustained period of time.
Best thing we can do is look at the situation again.
We have struggled to replace some world class players and it shows. We have struggled badly with injuries and it must be sickening. No other team can survive without its mains CBs. Stones never available is a nightmare.
Far too many players aging and injured. New players are expected to perform at the level we have become accustomed to but are either not good enough or struggling to adapt.
So realistically we are at a decent level. Not great, not bad but somewhere in the middle.
Pep? I don’t know he seems to be struggling with the amount of changes. He likes a small squad, where he relies in a certain amount of players but he has had to manage a lot of outgoing and incoming. The settled squad inherited does not exist currently.
Nothing we can do about it unfortunately but let it play out. We have signed some good players in January. Good players seem to be the main point. How good are the new players? Jury is out.
The system that served us so well is busted. We are so poor in possession now I would love a change to counter attacking football. Everyone now accepts a pale imitation of what we used to be.
Playing out from the back, it’s shocking. Putting aside the keeper change for a second, edie played a big role but Donna saves more so it evens out. The defenders can’t be trusted to break the lines, can’t pass more than once without a mistake.
The midfield is not solid with only nico or rodders holding it together. Haaland due to these issues can’t get into the game. New winger now will be interesting.
Sorry for rant, defence and midfield is solely to blame. Pep also for persisting on playing out with players who can’t do it to a high level leaving us vulnerable. Wingers also have issues, 8/10 also is an issue. Camping out with no solution only for a quick break against the high line is again a walking disaster.
We are clearly a team in transition. To what tho? It’s confusing and not identifiable as a pep team, more like a mixture of Klopp and pep but doing neither to a high level and thus play crap.
Make your mind up time. Personally the players are not capable of possession football that is effective. Pep can’t let it go as that’s his philosophy, the club buy seemingly with one eye on the future.
Need to decide what way we want to go. This stuck in the middle is why results like yesterday happen often.
Which will make it even funnier when it all comes crashing down again as it inevitably will.Look how fucking giddy the rags are. That annoys me more than the result ffs city
Tbf they should be beating a City side whose defence consisted of Lewis, Khusanov, Alleyne and Ake. I would expect most prem sides to penetrate thatLook how fucking giddy the rags are. That annoys me more than the result ffs city
But yet again we'll be talking about player burnout due to the World Cup. Just hope most of our lads are knocked out earlyThink being a little reactionary there mate. Why? Are they not allowed to celebrate?Look how fucking giddy the rags are. That annoys me more than the result ffs city
Why? Are they not allowed to celebrate?
My seat was 2 away from them. Very very giddy.
Hate the cunts but they are allowed to celebrate a win are they not?

At the moment it looks like Arsenal can defend any type of football better than us. We didn't get beat by "sunday league hoof ball" on Saturday.Arsenal can defend Sunday league hoof ball better than us
3 years or more for a rebuild? Hope not.i disagree, we can’t keep panicking every time we have a few bad results. The club knew we had to rebuild, it might take two or three years or more, but this is, by far, the best run club in the World.
Hes done nothing for 5 or 6 games, pathetic from the so called best striker in the world.Said it in the week, got pelters. Another fucking no show, one of his worst games ever in a City shirt.
I can't see a control freak like Pep not having any say in which players we buy.Rightly so and if that’s the case, the club has let him down badly on recruitment. He doesn’t have the players required to dominate and win games.
One of the joys of retirement is not seeing the clowns after losing a derby.Going to be a hell of a day, dealing with the giddy fuckers, chin up blues, onwards and upwards (i hope) :-)
He gets very little service recently and spends a lot of time running into positions and the ball doesn't arrive, our midfield on Saturday was totally inadequate and let Haaland down quite a bit.Hes done nothing for 5 or 6 games, pathetic from the so called best striker in the world.
Shush..stop talking senseHe gets very little service recently and spends a lot of time running into positions and the ball doesn't arrive, our midfield on Saturday was totally inadequate and let Haaland down quite a bit.
I don't think it's fair blaming him when he doesn't get the service
He is the best striker in the world.
That makes our performance even worse.Don't let them forget, they lost to Grimsby
Well said and good drills leaving the shit tip. It's of scant consolation to us but that result needs perspective I feel. We had a patched up, makeshift, never played together before defence. A red not given in our favour by the twat in the middle. A massively raised performance from them, buoyed by a change of manager. One of our worst showings under Pep occured as well. We were abysmal, luckily The Don kept it respectable. It's the walk away from the ground that's always the killer when we lose at that shit hole.
I told my lad to keep his mouth shut before we exited and don't react to all the shit he would hear.
We decided to walk the extra couple miles to Stretford Stadium to get the Alty tram back and it was tough going listening to them.
The only consolation is how low they have actually fallen.
They actually thought that was a world class performance and they were dancing all the way back to their coaches parked outside the Gorse Hill pub, destination Norwich.
Again, we then got on a packed tram full of the twats but they were all looking at their phones, transfixed to their replays.
If anything, it made me realise they are NEVER getting back to the standards they previously felt so entitled to. Never.
